Return to Lesnewth Parish Page The Will of Elizabeth Auger/Anger, dated 18 November 1746In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Auger of the parish of Lesnewth in the County of Cornwall, widdow, being sick and weak in Body, but of a sound and Perfect Mind and Memory praise be given to God therefore and knowing that all people are mortall and must depart this life whenever it shall please God to call them do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First and principally I resign my soul with the utmost humanity into the hands of Almighty God my Creator humbly hoping for a Blessed Immortality through the merritts and mediation of my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my Body I desire may be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named And as touching the disposal of such worldly Goods and Chattells as the Lord in his Great Goodness hath intrusted me to be steward of, I give devise and dispose hereof as followeth. First of all I do by this my Will give and bequeath unto my brother William Jasper one shilling of good and lawfull money of Great Brittain to be paid him at the end of six months the next after my decease. I do by this my last Will give and bequeath unto my nephew William Jasper Cordwinder Twenty shillings of good and lawful money of Great Brittain to be paid him at the end of six moths next after my decease. I do by this my Will give and bequeath unto my neice Elizabeth Jasper Five shillings of good and lawful money of Great Brittain to be paid at the end of six months next after my decease. And all the rest residue and remainder of my goods and chattolls of what nature or kind soever the same be ( not hereinbefore given) I do give and bequeath the same unto my friend and cosen William Thomas of the aforesaid parish of Lesnewth whom I make and ordain my whole and sole Executor of this my last will and testament to see my debts and legacyes paid and my will fully performed, and too hereby revoke all other wills by me formerly made. Lastly I do declare this and no other to be my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Anger have hereunto put my hand and seal the eighteenth day of November in the year of our Lord God 1746. The sign of Elizabeth Anger Signed Sealed published and Declared by the said Testator Elizabeth Anger as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who have Subscribed our names as witnefses hereto in the presence of the said testator (signed) Edward Jose The before written will was read in Common Form the 18th
April 1747 before the Hon. Mr Wm. Waddon clerk Master of Arts Official etc and
Admin of the goods etc of the deed and of all things howsoever concerning the
said will was granted to the executor therein named (Oath being first made all
