Know all Men by these Presents that I William Mance late of the City and County of Exeter but now of Marsh Mills in the Parish of Plympton St. Mary in the County of Devon Miller am held and firmly bound unto John Hicks and William Pound the present Churchwardens and John Bate and William Clements the present Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Lanteglos by Fowey in the County of Cornwall in Trust for the Parishoners of the said Parish in the sum of Twenty Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be well and truly paid to them the said John Hicks, William Pound, John Bate and William Clements or their certain Attorney Executors Administrators or Assigns to which payment to be well and truly made I bind myself my Heirs Executors and Administrators by these presents Sealed with my Seal Dated the Thirtieth day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifteen.
 
Whereas Nancy Wight of the parish of Lanteglos aforesaid singlewoman in and by her Examination taken in Writing and upon Oath before Robert Walker and William F?orrard Mitchell Clerks two of His Majestys Justices of the Peace in and for the County of Cornwall did declare that on the Tenth day of January One thousand Eight hundred and Fourteen at Trevecca in the said parish of Lantegloss by Fowey she the said Nancy Wight was delivered of a Male Bastard Child which is now living and likely to
