Know all men by these Presents, that we Samuel Saundry the elder Samuel Saundry the younger and Edward Willcock of the Parish of Lanteglos near Fowey in the County of Cornwall yeomen are held and firmly bound unto Richard Burn and Thomas Trubody Churchwardens and Joseph Geach and John Webb overseers of the poor of the Parish of Lanteglos near Fowey in the County of Cornwall aforesaid ( in trust for the Parishioners of the said Parish) in fifty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paind to the said Richard Burn Thomas Trubody Josseph Geach and John Webb or their certain attorney their executors, administrators or assigns: To which to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of us jointly and severally and our and each of our heirs executors and administrators firmly by these presents: Sealed with our Seals and dated the twenty third day of May in the twenty second year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty two.
 
The Condition of this Obligation is such that whereas Mary Pearn of the Parish of Lanteglos near Fowey in the County of Cornwall aforesaid single woman was on Sunday the nineteenth day of May last past delivered of a female bastard child at Polruan in the said Parish of Lanteglos near Fowey: If therefore the said Samuel Saundry the elder Samuel Saundry the younger and Edward Willcock or either of them their or either of their heirs executor or administrators do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully and clearly indemnify and save harmless as well the abovenamed churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Lanteglos near Fowey and their Successors for the time being as also all and singular the other Parishoners and Inhabitants of the said Parish of Lanteglos near Fowey which now are or hereafter shall be for the time being of and from all manner of costs taxes rates assessments and charges whatsoever for or by reason of the birth education and maintenance of the said child and of and from all actions suits troubles and other charges and demands whatsover touching or concerning the same that then this present obligation to be void otherwise of force.
