The Will of Thomas Honey, dated 14 March 1719
In the name of God Amen I Thomas Honey of the Barronye of
Camelford in the County of Cornwall Carpenter Being weak of Body but of perfect
Memory (thanks be to Almighty God for the same) and knowing that death is
certaine, though the time be uncertaine doo make and ordaine this my last will
and Testament in manner and form following (viz.)
First I bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty God my maker, hopeing
through the Meritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour to obtaine Everlasting life and
my Body to Christian buriall and as concerns the disposall of all such temporall
Estate as it pleased the Lord to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as
followeth
In primis I will that my debts and Funerall Charges be freed and discharged
Item I give and devise and bequeath unto Elizabeth my wife all my dwelling
house, outhouses and Backfields with the appurtinances thereunto belonging
within the Barronye of Camelford wherein I now dwell unto Elizabeth my wife for
and during the season of her naturall life
Item I give devise and bequeath unto Ann Short the wife of John Short of the
parish of puyhill (Poughill) the said houses and backfields with the
appurtinances after the decease of my said wife to her and her heirs forever,
provided she or her heirs pay the sum of thirty pounds to such persons as are
hereafter named
Item I give and bequeath unto the three children of my brother John Honey
deceased (viz.) Margery, P ? and Elizabeth the sum of five pounds to each of
them, and I give and bequeath unto the three children of my sister Ann Hoskins (viz),
Richard, Mary and William the sum of five pounds to each of them to be paid by
the said Ann Short, in one year after the decease of my said wife. Item My will
is that if the said Ann Short or her heirs shall refuse to pay the said thirty
pounds as aforesaid unto the said six children in one year after the decease of
me and my wife, then I give, devise and bequeath the said houses and
appurtinances unto my couson Richard Aunger and his heirs forever.
Item I give and bequeath to the four children of my sister Margery Aunger
Richard, William, Oliver and Thomas the sum of five pounds to each of them.
Item I give unto Ann Hoskins, Margery Aungor and Margory Nicholls the sum of
twenty shillings to each of them.
Item I give unto Honnor Warner my servant two gineas of gold.
Item I give to Ury (Ursula?) the daughter of Thomas Long deceased one
ginea of gold,
Item All the rest and residue of my Goods Chattles not heretofore given and
bequeathed, I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my wife whom I doo hereby make my
heir? (ink blurred) and sole Executrix she paying all my debts and
legacies, except the thirty pounds above mentioned? (ink blurred) my
will further is that all such goods credditts and chattles as shall (blurred
ink) after the death of my said wife, shall be valued and equally divided
between my relations and my cousins by two friends chosen by ?
IN Wittness whereof I doo publish and declare this to be my last will and
Testament sealed with my seal dated this fourteenth day of March Ano Dom one
thousand seven hundred and nineteen, 1719.
