The Will of Nicholas Trewbodye, dated
29 May 1568
In the name of god Amen the xxixth
day of May in the yer of owr lorde god 1568 I Nicholas
TREWBODYE of the pyshe of Lanlyvrye beyng of pfet mynde
but sycke of bodye do make my wyll and testament in manr
and forme folowyng fryst I comende my sowle to allmyghte
god and my body to be buryed in the churche of Lanlyvry
affore said
Itm I geve and bequethe unto my dawhter Constance xxte
marke of good Englyshe money (1 mark = £0:13:4)
at the day of her marriage
Itm I geve and bequethe unto my dawhter Elizabth xxte
marke of good Englyshe money at the day of her marryage
Itm I geve to the poore mens Boye ijs (2 shillings)
Itm I geve and bequethe unto Mr VICKER of Lanlyvrye for
tythes forgotten ijs
Itm I geve and bequethe unto Peter TREWBODYE my sonne a
sallte seller of silver vj sylver spones my best panne a
peyre of wheles Ire (iron) bownde and v mrkes
of money to be payd hym at the age of xxte yeres and yf
any of hys systrs dye befor the tyme of marryage then I
wyll the sayde Peter to have xxte nobles (1 noble =
£0:6:8) more to be payd by hands of hys mother
Item I geve to Alse BRLYE my good dawhter xijd (12
pence)
Itm I geve to Annes COWTLER my servant one yowe

Item yf all my chylldrn do dye then I wyll one peyr of
bedes to Remeyne to Janne MORTYM and her chylldrn
Itm I geve to John TREWBODYE my yownger brother one
shoppe and bedrome
