In the name of god amen the xvijth (17th) daie of August in the yers of oure Lord God 1640 I John SKORY of the pish of Lanlivry in the county of Cornewall gent weake of body butt of good and pfect memory god be praised doe make and Ordaine this my laste will and Testamt. in mannor and forme followinge
viz: First I commend my soule into the hands of the Almighty god my maker and Creator hopinge assuredly through the only merritts of Jesis Christe my Savior and Redeemer by onlye faith in him to be made ptaker of life everlastinge. and I commend my body to the Earth whereof it is made:
Now as concerning my psonall estate goods and Chattells and the disposing thereof by this my Laste will and Testament
First I give towards the Repacon of the church of Lanlivye vs (5 shillings) and to the pooer there of vjs viijd (6 shillings 8 pence) to be paid wthin tenn daies of my death Item I give to the pooer of the Towne of Lostwethialle xs (10 shillings) and to the Repacon of there church vs (5 shillings) to be paid wthin six daies my death
Itm I give unto Elizabeth SKORY one of my grand Children the daughter of Walter SKORY my second sonn the sume of Tenn pounds of lawfull mony of England the sume to be paid her by myne Executrix heereafter in this my laste will expr(essed)
wthin thirteene moneths next after my deathe provided alwaies that the said tenn pounds shall remayne in the Custody of my Executrix or her Assigne to be sett out for her use and best advantage untill the said Elizabeth shall accomplish the age of Eighteen years and then the sume to be trulye paid herr wth the use and pffitt there of made And if hitt shall happen my Executrix hereafter in these pr(ese)nts noated
dye before the said Elizabeth shall attaine unto the Age of Eighteene yeers then my Will is that John SKORY my eldest sonn shall have the said tenn pounds soe before given together wth the use & pffitt soe thereof made formerly by my said executrix and shall likewise dispose and sett out the sume for her best pffitt and advantage untill she come to the said age of Eighteene yeers and then the said Ten pounds to geather wth the use and pffitt to be paid her by the said John SKORY his heirs executors or administrators if the said John SKORY shalle dedd before shee accomplish the age of eighteene yeers And if hitt happen the said Elizabeth SKORY to Dye and be un married before she attaine to her Age of Eighteene yeers then my Will and intent is that Walter SKORY Elinor Agnes and Silvanus SKORY the sonns and daughters of Walter SKORY afore said shall have the said tenn pounds togeather wth the use and pffitt thereof for(-)mrly made equally devided amongst them
Item I give unto Walter SKORY one other of my grand Children the sume of Tenn pounds curant english monye to be paid him wthin one yeer after my death if he shalle then of the (age) of eighteene yeers, if hee shalle att the tyme of my death under the Age of eighteene yeers the said sume of Tenn pounds to be putt out by my executrix or her assignee or assignes for and towards his best use pffitt and advantage untill he shall accomplish the age of eighteene yeers and then to be fully paid there of by my executrix or her assignee or assignes togeather wth the use and pffitt thereof made And if the said Walter SKORY shall happen to dye before hee attains the Age of xviij (18) yeers then my will is that the said Tenn pounds shalle paid unto the said Elizabeth Agnes Elinor and Sylvanus SKORY before heerein named
equally deveded betweixt them
Itm I give unto Silvanus Elinor and Agnes SKORY and unto eache of them the sume of iijli (£3) curant english mony the same to be paid them wthin one yeere after my death if they be then lyvinge or unto suche as shallbe then lyvinge
Itm I give unto Elizabeth COUCH my kind friend whome I have bredd and mentayred from her Infancy sixe pounds Curant english mony the sume to be paid her by my executrix or executor wthin one yeere next after my death And if the said Elizabeth
COUCH shalbe then dedd my will is that the Residew of her sisters unmarried shalle paid by my executrix or executor of the said six pounds and equally devided betwixt them
Itm I give unto John SKORY my my eldest sonn one bedsteed a ftether bed a ftether bolster apayer of sheets apayer of blancketts a Coalett a paier of Curtyns and the Reidell worke Covering wch is used commonly on the same all wch remaine
commonly in the parlor chamber new build
Itm I give unto my daughter Bridgett SPRY one of my best kyne and unto her daughter one ewe
Itm I give unto Alice SKORY my daughter in lawe to greate standing potts of Tynn and unto John SKORY my grand child and god son xls (40 shillings) more to Mary and
Martha twoe other my grand Children vjs viijd (6 shillings 8 pence) to each of them to be paid wthin one yeere after my death and unto Walter SKORY my second sonn in like manner xls (40 shillings) and a bedsteed a fetherbed a payer of blanketts and
a payer of sheets to be delivred unto him after the death of his mother
More over my Will and true Intent is that such debts of myne as shalle truly dewe and owing and in Concience to be paid they be dewly paid and then after my debts and legasyes satisfyed and my funeralle expences fully discharged The Residew of
all my goods and Chattells aswell reales as psonalles I give and devise and bequeath unto Elizabeth SKORY my welbeloved wife whome I make and ordeane my whole and sole executrix of this my laste will and testament Revoking heereby all former wills heereto fore by mee made In witness where of I have this daie and yeere above written sett heere unto my hand and seale And for more .... and ample testimony heere unto have written this my will wth my owne hand and here unto putt my hands
