The Will of Lawrence Bawden, dated 10
January 1689
Lanlivery
27th ….1692
In the name of God Amen the tenth day of January in the
year of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred eighty
and nine, I Lawrence Bawden of the parish of
Lanlivery in the County of Cornwall yeomn, being weake
in body
but of good and perfect memory thanks be to Almighty God
and Calling to remembrance the uncertaine estate of
this transitory life, and that all flesh must yield unto
death when itt shall please God to call doe make
constitute
ordaine and declare this my last will and testament in
manner and forme following, revoking and annulling by
these
presents all and every testament and testaments will and
wills heretofore by me made ether by word or writing
and this to be taken only for my last will and testament
and none other And first being penitent and sorry from
the bottom of my heart for my sins past, most humbly
desiring forgiveness for the same I give and committ
my Soule unto Almighty God my Saviour and redeemer, in
whom and by the meritts of Jesus Christ I trust and
believe asuredly to
be saved, and to have full remission and forgiveness of
all my sins and my body to bee buried in such place
where itt shall
please my executrix hereafter named to appoint, And now
for settleing of my temporal estates and such Goods and
Chattles
as itt has pleased God to bestow upon me, I doe order
give and dispose the same in manner and forme following
that is to
say first I will that that all those debts and dutys as
I owe in right or conscience to any manner of person or
persons
whatsoever shalbee well and truly contented and paid, or
ordained to be paid within convenient time after my
deeease
by my Executrix hereafter named, Item I give and
bequeath unto John Bawden son of John Bawden
of the parish of
Lanlivery aforsaid lately deceased Five pounds to
be paid him att the end of six moneths next after my
decease
Item I doe give unto John Rawlinge son of John
Rawlinge of Lanhydrock in the said County Blacksmith
Five shillings to bee
paid him att the twelve moneths end next after my
decease, Item I doe give Anne Robyns the daughter
of Nicholas
Robyns lately deceased three pounds to be paid her
att the twelve moneths end after my decease Item I doe
give Jone
Scantlebury the daughter of Robert Reane
lately deceased Forty shillings to be paid alsoe att the
twelve moneths end
after my decease, Item all the rest of my Goods and
Chattles of what kind and nature soever I give and
bequeath
unto Jone Bawden my wife, and her I doe hereby
make and ordaine my whole and sole Executrix of this my
last will
and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto sett my
hand and seale the day and year first above written
published and declared
