Know all men by These Presents That I George Skinard
of the Parish of Landulph in the County of Cornwall
Yeoman Am held and Firmly Bound unto John Wymond and
John Hodge Yeomans the Present Church Wardens of the
Said parish of Landulph and unto Benjamin Symons the
Present Overseer of the Poor of the Same parish and to
there Successors for the Time being and unto Every and
Either of them In the ---? Sume of Fifty Pounds of
Lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid unto them the
said John Wymond and John Hodge Benjamin Symons the said
Present Church Wardens and Overseer and to there
Successors for the Time being or Sume or one of them For
which Payment well and Truly to be made I bind My Self
My hears Executors and Administrators and Each and Every
of them for the whole. Firmly by these Presents Sealed
with my Seal and Dated this Twentyeth Day of May in the
year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred sixty? Seven
And in the Seventh year of the Reign of Our Sovering
Lord George the Third by Grace of god of Great Britain
France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and So
forth . . .
Where as upon examination of Elizabeth Hodge Single
woman Taken in writing upon oath before Joshua Howell
Esqr and Joseph
Smart Clark Two of his Majestis Justtices of the peace
for the Said County it appeareth that the Said Elizabeth
Hodge hath bin Lately Delivered of a bastard Child and
That the Said Bastard is or are Likely to be come
Chargable to the Said Parish of Landulph and Where as
The Said Elizabeth Hodge at the Time of Such her
Examination Did Charge the above Bound George Skinard To
be the father of Such Child Now The Condition of this
Obligation is Such That If the above bound George
Skinard his hears Executors or Administrators or Sume or
One them Do and Shall well and Truly pay or Cause to be
paid unto the above named John Wymond John Hodge and
Benjamin Symons the Said present Church wardens and
Overseer of the poor of the Said parish of Landulph and
unto there Successors for the Time being or unto Sume or
one of them The Sume of One Shilling and two pence of
Lawfull Money by the week: weekly and every week from
the Day of the Said Elizabeth Hodge being Delivered of
Such Bastard Child for and to ward the Keeping
Sustentation and Maintaince of Such Bastard Child for
and During So long time as the Said Bastard Child Shall
be a Charge and Burthen or Likely so to be on the Said
parish and If the Said George Skinard his hears
Executors or Administrators Do and Shall from time to
Time and at all Times here after fully and Clearly
Acquit Exonerate and Discharge or other ways well and
Sufficiently Save and Keep harmless and Indemnified as
well the above named John Wymond John Hodge and Benjamin
Symons the Said present Church wardens and Overseer of
the Poor of the Said parish of Landulph aforesaid and
there Successors for the Time being and Every of them as
also the Inhabitance and parishioners orf the Said
parish of Landulph which now are or here after Shall be
for the Time being and Every of them of and from all and
all manner of Expences Damages Costs and Charges
whatsoever which Shall or may at any Time hereafter
arise happen come Grow or be imposed upon them or Either
or any of them for or by Reason or mains of the Said
Elizabeth Hodge being Lately Delivered of a Bastard
Child as aforesaid or for or by Reason or maines of the
Maintainance Education and Bringing Up of Such Child and
of and from all Suites Trouble Charge Damages and
Demands whatsoever Tuching or Concerning the Same Then
the above Obligation To be Voide. Other wise to remain
and be in full Power Force Effect and Virtue.
