Know All Men By These Presents That I William Lavis Parsons of the Parish of Landulph in the County of Cornwall husbandman Am held and firmly Bound Unto Thomas Wymond and Moses Thomas Gentleme nthe present Churchwardens of the said Parish of Landulph And Unto John Bayly and John Sambell the present Overseers of the Poor of the same Parish and to their Successors for the Being and Unto Every and Either of them in the Penal Sum of Fifty Pounds of Lawfull Money of Great Britain To be paid unto them the said Thomas Wymond, Moses Thomas, John Bayly and John Sambell the said present Churchwardens and Overseers and to their Successors for the time Being or some or one of them – For which payment well and truly to be Made I Bind myself, my Heirs Executors Administrators and Each and Every of them for the Whole Firmly by these presents Sealed with my Seal and Dated this Thirtieth Day of June in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred Fifty and Eight and in the Two and Thirtieth Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Second By the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith And so forth –
 
Whereas Upon the Examination of Hannah Broad Singlewoman taken in writing upon Oath Before Charles Trelany William Morshead and Francis Baker Esquires Three of his Majestys Justices of the peace for the said County It appeareth That the said Hannah Broad is Now with Child of a Bastard Child or Children which when Born is or are Likely to become Chargable to the said parish of Landulph And Whereas the said Hannah Broad at the time of such her Examination Did Chrage the above Bound William Lavis Parsons to be the Father of such Child or Children Now The Condition of this Oligation is Such That If the above Bound William Lavis parsons his Heirs Executors or Administrators or some or one of them Do and Shall well and truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the above Named Thomas Wymond, Moses Thomas, John Bayly, and John Sambell, the said Present Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said parish of Landulph and unto their Successors for the time being or unto some or One of them the Sum of Twelve Shillings of Lawfull Money of Great Britain for and towards the Lying in and Laying of the said Hannah Broad of the said Bastard Child or Children And Do and Shall Likewise pay or Cause to be paid unto the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said parish of Landulph and their Successors for the time Being or Some or One of them the sum of Nine pence of Like Lawfull Money by the week, Weekly and Every Week from the Day of the said Hannah Broads being Delivered of Such Bastard Child or Children for and towards the Keeping Sustentation and Maintenance of the said Bastard Child or Children for and During so long time as the said Bastard Child or Children Shall Continue and be a Charge and burthen or Likely so to be On the said parish And If the said William Lavis Parsons his Heirs Executors and Administrators Do and Shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully and Clearly Acquit Exonerate and Discharge or Otherwise well and Sufficiently Save and keep Harmless and Indemnified as well the above named Thomas Wymond, Moses Thomas, John Bayly, and John Sambell the Churchwardens and Overseer of the poor of the said parish of Landulph aforesaid and their Successors for the time being and Every of them As Also all the Inhabitants and parishioners of the said parish of Landulph which Now or hereafter Shall be for the time Being and Every of them Of and from all and all Manner of Expenses Damages Costs and Charges Whatsoever Which Shall or May at any time hereafter arise, happen, Come, grow or be imposed upon them or Either or one of them for or by Reason or Means of the said Hannah Broads being Now with Child aforesaid or for or By Reason or Means of the Birth Maintenance Education and Bringing up of Such Child or Children that? She the said Hannah Broad Now goeth with And of and from all Suits Troubles Charges Damages and Demands Whatsoever touching or Concerning the same Then the above Obligation to be Void Otherwise to Remain and be in full Power Force Effect and Virtue
