Know all Men by these Presents that I John Morish of the Parish of Landulph in the County of Cornwall Yeoman Am held and firmly Bound unto Benjamin Sambell & William Jackett Church wardens, and Benjamin Symons and George Skinnard Overseers of the Parish of Landulph in the County aforesaid (in Trust for the Parishioners of the said Parish) in the sum of Fifty Pounds of good & lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to the said Benjamin Sambell William Jackett Benjamin Symons and George Skinnard or their certain Attorney their Executors Administrators or Assigns, To which payment well and truly to be made, I bind my Self my Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these Presents Sealed with my Seal and Dated the twentyeighth Day of March in the Thirty-sixth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the Faith and soforth and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six.
 
The Condition of this Obligation is such that Whereas Elizabeth Bond of the said Parish of Landulph single Woman both in and by her voluntary Examination taken in Writing and upon Oath before the Revd Thos Penwarn Clerk one of his Majestie’s Justices of the Peace in and for the Said County of Cornwall, Declared that she was then with Child and that the sd Child was likely to be born a Bastard And whereas on the fourth Day of February now last past in the sd Parish of Landulph she the said Elizabeth Bond was delivered of a Female Bastard Child and that the sd Bastard Child is likely to become Chargeable to the sd Parish of Landulph. If therefore the sd John Morish (the reputed Father of the sd Child) his Heirs Executors or Administrators do and shall from Time to Time & at all Times hereafter fully and clearly indemnify & save harmless as well the above named Church wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the s’d Parish of Landulph and their successors for the time being as also all and singular the other Parishioners & inhabitants of the sd Parish of Landulph which now are or hereafter shall be for the time being of and from all manner of lost taxes rates assessments & charges whatsoever for or by Reason of the Birth Education & maintenance of the sd Child, & of & from all Actions, suits, troubles and other Charges & Demands whatsoever touching or concerning the same That Then this present Obligation to be Void, otherwise of Force.
