Know all men by these presents that
I Thomas Bishop of Plymouth in the County of Devon Gent.
Am hold and firmly bound unto Nichs. Webb Gent. &
Francis Lee yeoman Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of Landulph in this County of Cornwall in the sum of
fifty pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittain to be
paid unto the said Nichs. Webb & Francis Lee their Execs
& Adms or to their Lawful attorney for the such payment
well and truly to be made I bind my self my Heirs Execs
& Adms firmly by those sd Gents sealed with my seal
Dated the 19th day of January 1737 in the Eleventh year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by
the Grace of God King of Great Brittn & so forth and in
the year of our Lord 1737.
Whereas Jane Adford of the Parish of Landulph aforesaid
Single Woman hath been lately delivered of a female
Bastard Child called Bridget who is likely to become
chargeable to the said Parish of Landulph now the
Condition of this obligation is such that if the above
bounden Thomas Bishop his Heirs Execs & Adms or any of
them do and shall from time to time & at all times
hereafter fully & clearly acquit Indemnifie discharge &
save harmless as well the above named Nichs. Webb &
Francis Lee & their successors for the time being as
also all the inhabitants & parishioners of the said
Parish of Landulph and every of them of & from all & all
manner of Expenses Costs Damages and Charges whatsoever
such shall or may at any time hereafter arise happen
come grow or be happened upon them or any or either of
them for or by reason of the birth or maintenance of the
said Bastard Child Called Bridget & of & from all other
troubles Charges Damages & Demands whatsoever touching
or Conserning the same then this Obligation to be paid
or else to remain in full force and virtue.
