I FELIX ELFORD COOM of Bodmin in the County of Cornwall Gentleman being now of the age of 75 years do solemnly and sincerely declare as follows:-

  1. I am the Brother of Richard Coom formerly of Bodmin Gentleman deceased who died on the 27th day September 1884 at Plympton in the County of Devon.

  2. THAT under and by virtue of a Power of Attorney executed by the said Richard Coom and bearing date the 7th day of May 1854 the management of all his Real Estate was vested in me

  3. THAT at the date of the said Power of Attorney the said Richard Coom was the owner of the Inheritance in fee simple in possession free from all incumbrances of (inter alia) certain Farms Lands and premises situate in the Parish of Ladock in the said County and known as Stannaways Tenement and Bassetts or Latchers Tenement

  4. THAT Stannaways Tenement consists of a Dwelling House and certain fields or closes of land hereto adjoining and belonging being Numbers 1414, 1415, 1416, 1417, 1418, 1419, 1420 and 1421 on the Tithe Apportionment Map and Book of Reference thereto for the said Parish of Ladock and therein stated to contain 4 Acres and 4 Poles or thereabouts

  5. THAT Bassetts or Latchers Tenement consists of a Farm House Outbuildings and premises and certain fields and closes of land thereto adjoining and belonging and being and being Numbers 1244, 1245, 1246, 1247,1248,1249, 1250,1251,1252,1253,1254,1255,1256,1257,1258,1259,1260,1260A on the same Tithe Apportionment Map and Book of Reference thereto and therein stated to contain 51 acres 0 Roods and 36 Poles or thereabouts, all which before mentioned Tenaments are described in the said Book of Reference as being the property of the said Richard Coom

  6. THAT from the said 7th day of May 1854 up to the said 27th day of September 1884 I granted Leases and received the whole of the rents and profits of the said Tenements and paid the same to or for the use and benefit of the said Richard Coom and that during the whole of such period I had as such Attorney as aforesaid open known and undisturbed and undisputed possession of the said Tenements

  7. THAT during such period as aforesaid no adverse Claim was ever made to such Tenements or either of them nor was any right to receive the rents and profits thereof as such Attorney ever called in question nor has any rent or Equivalent been ever paid for or in respect of the same or any other acknowledgement of Title to any person or persons whomsoever made thereto

  8. AND I make this solemn Declaration Conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of “The Statutory Declaration Act” 1835
