DEATH OF MR. J. TREZISE
Mr. John Trezise, a well-known citizen, died in Carinya Private Hospital
about 9 o’clock last night at the age of 75 years and nine months.
Mr. Trezise was born at St. Ives, Cornwall, and had been a resident of
Broken Hill for over 45 years. When he first came to Broken Hill he
worked along the line of lode for three years until his health failed.
After that he was employed by Mr. P. Morrison (tailor) and worked there
for more than 28 years. He left this position about 12 years ago and
since then had lived practically in retirement.
Mr. Trezise was a member of the Silver Star Lodge of Druids, No. 446,
M.U.I.O.O.F. Lodge, Charters Towers, Queensland. He was also an active
member of the Fathers Association and was connected with the Returned
Soldiers’ Association.
He leaves a grown-up family of six sons, Messrs. Alf., Dick, Doug.,
Fred, Alan and Keith, and six grandchildren.
The funeral took place this afternoon, leaving his late residence at 172
Gaffney-street, Railway Town, at 3 o’clock. The interment was made in
the Methodist Cemetery, in the same grave as his wife, the late Ellen
Jane Trezise, who died in August 1926. The funeral arrangements were
carried out by Fred J. Potter and Son.
