Will of Rev. Robert Dillon, 14 January 1835

In the name of God Amen. I Robert Dillon vicar of the parish of Gulval, in the county of Cornwall, being of sound disposing mind and understanding, praise be almighty God for the same, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following. First I resign my soul into the hands of God who gave it trusting that He will favourably receive it through the merits and mediation of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ whose intersession most humbly and daily implore and my body I commit to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named and as to my worldly goods I do give devise and bequeath the same as follows I will that my debts funeral charges be fully paid and satisfied by my executors as hereinafter named and as to the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects of what nature or kind soever that I may leave at my decease or be entitled to I give and bequeath the same between my two daughters Alida van horne Dillon and Alianora Joanna Dillon to be equally divided between them share and share alike I have not mentioned or noted my daughter Amelia wife of James Montgomery M.D. not from any deficiency of a most tender affectionate and parental regard for her but in consideration of her being well and happily settled, thanks be to God for it, and that a portion of my property conveyed to her would not be of essential service to herself and family but may be sensibly felt by securing the income of her sisters and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said two daughters Alida van horne Dillon and Alianora Joanna Dillon to be executrixes of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former and other wills by me heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five. PROVED at London 11 April 1839 before the Judge by the oaths of Alida Van Horne, in the will written van horne Dillon and Alianora Joanna Dillon spinsters the Daughters the Executrixes, to whom was granted having been first sworn by commission duly to administer

(In the margin) Admon/will of goods ________ granted on the 11th March 1874 to James Barclay Montgomery Doctor of Medicine

The note in the margin indicates that all the sisters and Amelia’s husband had died by 1874 and the administration passed to Amelia’s son James Barclay Montgomery, MD.
