The Will of Edward Mychell, dated 19 May 1625

The XIXth day of may in the first yeere of the Raigne of
our Sovereigne Lord Charles by the grace of God kinge
of England Scotland France and Ireland Defender of
the fayth Ec:/ Anno dni 1625:/
In the name of God Amen: I Edward Mychell, thelder of the pish
of Gorran in the Countie of Cornwall yeoman being sicke of
body, but of whole mind and in good & perfects remembrance
laude & prayse be to allmighti God, doe hereby make my laste
will & Testament in manner & forme as followeth:/ - -
First I bequeath my soule to Almightie God my maker & redeemer
and my body unto Christian buriall:/ Itm I give to the poore
of the pish of Gorran XXs. Itm I give towards the maynete
nence of the Church of Gorran XXs:/ Itm I give to Peeter the
Sonn of John Polsue my grandchild one yarling of a yeere old or
Twentie Shillings in monney for the same:/ Itm I give to John, jone
& Amey
my Grand Children the sonn & daughters of John Polsue
three Lambs (to wit) to each of them one:/ & unto mary, my Grandchild
the daughter of John Polsue two lambs, Itm I give to evrie
of my sonn Edward Mychells daughters one lambe & to his sonn
two lambs Itm I give to my sonn Richard Mychells three eldest
Children three lambs (to wit) to each of them one, and to mary his
yongest Daughter two lambs Itm I give to Amey the daughter of
Arthur Gifforde one lambe and unto Eloner his daughter
two lambes, Itm I give to Stephin Wyzae one yeowe, Itm I give
Henry wiza two yeowes Itm I give to letty wiza my sister
Ten shillings Itm I give to Julian Mychell one yeowe & five shillings
in monney, Itm I give to John James one yeowe, Itm I give to _--
Thomason my wife all the Reste of my sheepe & one Cowe: & my
whole Right and enterest in Croconner during her life and if
shee dye before the tyme of yeeres be expired then it shall fall to my
Executor, Itm I give her more the bed during her life which I nowe lye in with his
furniture and after her decease I give the said bed with his fur
nyture unto Judeth my daughter, Itm I give more to Thomason my
wife one Cheste two Coffers in the Chamber where I lie in, Itm I give
& bequeath unto Richard Mychell my sonn all my Right in the tenemt
of Boswangarne which I hold of Charles Trevanion esquire:/
Itm I give more unto Richard Mychell my sonn fower oxen & tooe steers
& seaventeene pounds in money & my executor to Dischard? all heriots
Itm I give hem more the second best Irebonnde paire of wheeles & a
waine & a butt too yockes & toe Teeshes the bed & bedstede in the
lower Chamber fower silver spoones which I bought of my brother
John Mychell: the one halfe of the seller in poreste &
Tymber so much as shall make one paire of wheeles a pan conteyning
seaven gallons Itm I give to Judeth my daughter one silver spoone
& to marie my daughter one silver spoone Itm I give to thomasen
my wife Tenn pounds in monney to be paid within one yeere after
my decease: Itm all the Rest of my goods & Chattles not Given -
nor bequeathed I give to Edward Mychell my sonn & I doe make
hem my whole Executor In witnes this to be my last will and
Testament I have hereunto sett my hand & seale the day & yeere first
above written
