Will of Frances Michell, dated 1 January 1653
IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I
Frances Michell of the parish of Gorran Widdowe being sick
of bodie but in perfect
memory Thanks be to God doe make and ordaine this to be my last Will and
Testament in manner and forme as followeth IN PRIMUS I bequeath my Soule
unto
Allmightie God my Maker and Redeemer And my bodie to the christian
buriall Item
I give and bequeathe unto John Michell my Sonne six shillings and
eight pence and one
Cauldron and one Coverlett Item I give and bequeathe unto my three
daughters
twenty shillings apeece to be paied two yeares after my deathe Item I
give unto
Edward Michell my grandson All the right and estate wch I have in
a feild called
the long streete when hee shall accomplish the Age of sixteene yeares in
paying of
six shillings a yeare Rent unto the Landlord thereof And fortie
shillings on the death
of any of the lives And if it happens that the said Edward shall happen
to die before
hee accomplish the yeares of sixteene then my will is that John
Michell my sonne shall have
the same during his life And after his death unto his other eldest sonne
if hee have any
during the Tearme which shalbe then to unexpire paieing of the Rents and
other Reservacons
aforesaid But if that John Michell have no other sonne then my
will is that my Executor
shall have the same Item I give and bequeathe unto Edward Michell
my grandsonne one
feather Bedd furnyshed the same which was given mee by Edward Michell
my husband
And also my twoe greater Chests item I give unto all the rest of my
Grandchildren
six shillings and eight pence apeece to be paied them twoe yeares after

Broads time is expired of the long streete if any the lives be then
living All the
Rest of my Goods and Chattles not given nor bequeathed I give unto
Edward Michell my
sonne whome I make my whole and sole Executor In Witnesse whereof I have
here=
unto sett my Hand and seale the first daie of January 1653 the signe of
Frances
Michell signed and sealed in the presence of Henry Michell John
Michell the signe

THIS WILL was proved at London the seaventh daie of June in the
yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and fiftie five before
the Judges for probate
of Wills and granting Administrations lawfully authorised by the Oath of
Edward
Michell the naturall and lawfull sonne of the said deceased and sole
Executor named
in the said Will to whome the Administration was Committed of all and
singular the godds
Cahttles and Debts of the said deceased hee the said Edward Michell
being first sworne
by Comission well and truly to administer the same.
