The Will of one Rose
Michell lately deceased
proved in Common form
before the Reverend
Mr James Walker Clerk
Bachelor of Laws
Surrogate and so forth
And Admion of all &
Singular the Goods
of the said deced and
of all things howsoever
concerning her said
Will was granted to
the Executor therein
named (Being first
Sworn etc Saving etc
No Invey.
In the Name of God Amen I Rose Michell of the parish of Gorran in
the County of Cornwall Widow
being of Sound and Disposing mind do make this my last Will and
Testament in manner following that
is to say First I Will that my Funeral Charges and Debts shall be paid
Also I Give unto my Daughter
Jane the wife of James Brokensha One Guinea Also I Give unto my
Daughters in law Anne Michell &
Lucretia Oliver One shilling each Also I Give unto my Grandson
Edward Michell the Son of my Son Edward
Michell One shilling and it is my Will that the aforesaid Legacies
be paid by my Executrix herein after named
within One month after my Death Also I Give unto my Son James Michell
four of my Cyder Casks at
Street in Gorran aforesaid and my Best Heifer on the Tenement of Street
Also I Give unto my son John
Michell my Best bed Furnished being now in the Chamber called the
Parlour Chamber at Street aforesaid Also
I Give unto my Son Robert Michell my Feather Bedtye and Bolster
and one Bedstead the said Bedtye Bolster
and Stead being now in the Chamber over the Dairy at Street aforesaid
Also I give unto my daughter Agnes
Michell the Bed furnished that was formerly placed in the Chamber
called the Cellar Chamber at Street aforesaid
Also I Give unto my Daughter Thomasine the wife of Richard Michell
my Brass pan now in the Custody of the
said Richard Michell and Two large Pewter Dishes and Six Pewter
plates Also I Give and Bequeath unto my
Daughter Mary Clemowe the Widow of George Clemowe One Annuity or
Clear yearly rent Charge of One Pound of lawful
money of Great Britain to be paid unto my said Daughter Mary Clemowe
by my daughter Frances Michell her
Executors Administrators and Assigns Clear of all Rates Taxes
Impositions and Outgoings whatsoever out of my
undivided Moiety of the Messuage or Tenement in or called Place & Street
situate & being within the parish of Gorran
aforesaid (which Moiety I hold under a Lease Granted me by Sir John St
Aubyn Bart bearing date the Seventeenth day
of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and
Thirty five) for and during the Term of Sixty
years if my said Daughter Mary Clemowe shall so long live and if
the Lives in the Lease of the said Moiety of the
said Tenement named or any or either of them shall also so long live And
I do hereby order and direct that the said
Annuity or Clear yearly rent Charge of One pound shall be paid unto my
said Daughter Mary Clemowe by equal
Quarterly payments at the four most usual Feasts or Days of payment of
Rents in the year that is to say Michalmas
Christmas Ladyday & Midsummer the first payment thereof to be made on
such of the said feasts of days as shall first
and next happen after my Decease and I do hereby charge and render
liable my said undivided moiety of the said
Messuage and Tenement in or called Place and Street to and with the
payment of the said Annuity of One pound
to my said Daughter Mary Clemowe as aforesaid with full Power for
her to Enter on the said Tenement and to
distrain for the said Annuity in Case the same shall not be paid as it
shall become due and payable and the
Distress and Distresser from time to time taken for her to sell and
dispose of as any Act or Acts of Parliament
relating to the Sale of Distresses taken for writs doth or do direct
Also I Give & Bequeath unto my Daughter Frances
Michell all my aforesaid undivided Moiety Granted me by Sir John
Saint Aubyn of and in the aforesaid Messuage and Tenement
in or called Place & Street with the appurtenances lying and being in
the Parish of Gorran aforesaid for the Remainder of
the Term and Estate which I have or can claim therein by virtue of the
Original Indenture of Lease thereof Granted me by the
said Sir John St Aubyn or otherwise howsoever (subject nevertheless to
the before mentioned Annuity) And I do likewise give
unto my said Daughter Frances Michell all the residue of my Goods
Chattles and Personal Estate (not herein disposed of)
And I do make my said Daughter Frances Michell Sole Executrix of
this my Will and Testament and I hereby revoke
and make void all former Wills by me made In Witness whereof I have to
this my last Will and Testament set my hand
& Seal the Nineteenth day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand
Seven Hundred & Sixty

for and as her last Will & Testament in Presence of us
