Parish Page Will of Joan Gennys, dated 10 October 1746In the name of God Amen I Joan Gennys late of the Parish of St. Germans in the County of Cornwall but now living within the parish of Maker in the said County spinster being sick and weak in Body but of Sound and Perfect Disposeing Mind and Memory Praised be Almighty God for the same and Considering the Shortness and Uncertainty of this Mortal life as also for the preventing and avoiding of any Disputes or Controversies which shall or may happen to Arise or be moved by and between my Relations or any of them for or Concerning any such Temporal Goods and Chattels as shall be to me belonging or in anywise Appertaining at the time of my Decease do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (That is to say) First and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it hoping thro the Meritorious Death and Passion of Jesus Christ my Redeemer and Saviour to Obtain full and free pardon Remission and forgiveness of all my sins and to Inherit Everlasting life and as for my Body, I committ it to the Earth to be Decently Interred with Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executrix herein afternamed and as for and Concerning all such Worldly and Temporal Goods and Chattels as it hath pleased Almighty God to Give and Bestowe upon me I do give and Dispose thereof in a manner and form following First I will and Desire that all my Just Debts and funeral Charges shall be paid and Discharged. Item I do give and devise to my sister Susanna Pille the Sum of One Shilling of Lawfull Money of Great Brittain to be paid her by my Executrix imediately after my Interment. I Do give and Devise to my sister Mary Veale the Sum of One Shilling of like Lawfull Money of Great Brittain to be paid her by my Executrix as the former to my sister Pill All the Rest Residue and Remainder of all my Leases Goods and Chattels Bills Bonds Notes Writeings Obligatory and Creditts with all other things to me belonging or in anywise Appertaining at the time of my Decease whether it be moveable or immoveable Quick or Dead - of what Quality or Nature soever the same to be I do give and Devise to my Beloved Sister Ann Gennys makeing her full and Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby Revoke Disannul and make Void all former and Other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made - or Execured In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament written and Contained on one Sheet of Common Paper put my hand and seal the Tenth Day of October in the Year of our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred forty and six and in the Twentyeth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God over Great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and soforth.
The before written Will was Proved in Common Form the 10th. Day of April 1747 before us. And Admion of the Goods etc of the Decd and of all things howsoever concerning the said Will was Granted to the Executrix therein named (being first sworn by Vertue of a Commission) saveing etc The before written will is a trew coppy. Examined and
