The Will of John Baker, dated 15 January 1749/50

In The Name of God Amen I John Baker of the parish of St. Ginnys in the
County of Cornwall being sick & weak of Body but Stronng in Faith and of
a perfict Memeory Blessed be Almighty God for it do now make my last
Will and Testement – Revocking all former Wills made by me whatsoever.
First I Give unto my son John Baker all my Houses Orchards & Gardens and
one field Behind the Houses called the Backsaid – and three fields call
the butteses & two moores & all my Right in the Townd of Trencreek after
my deces.
Item I Give unto my son William Baker four pounds to be devided & paid
in four payments. That is the first Twenty Shillings to be paid within
one year after my Deces & ye Second Twenty Shillings to be paid within
two years after my deces & the Theird Twenty Shillings to be paid within
three years after my deces & the fourth Twenty Shillings to be paid
within four years after my deces.
Item I Give unto my daughter Elizabeth Baker fife pounds to be devided
and paid in fife payments. That is the first 20 Shillings to be paid
within one year after my deces & the second Twenty Shillings to be paid
within two years after my deces & the Third Twenty Shillings to be paid
within 3 years after my deces & the fourth Twenty Shillings to be paid
within four years after my deces & the fifth Twenty Shillings to be paid
within fife years after my deces and I Give my daughter Elizabeth one
acre of Wheat now Growing in my Loare field.
Item I Give unto my son Richard Baker fife pounds to be devided and paid
in fife payments That is the first Twenty Shillings to be paid within
one year after my Deces & the second Twenty Shillings to be paid within
2 years after my deces & the Third Twenty Shillings to be paid within 3
years after my Deces & the fourth Twenty Shillings to be paid within
four years after my deces & the fifth Twenty Shillings to be paid within
fife years after my deces and I make my Brother William Baker Trusteen
over my son Richard.

Item If any of Either of the Sums of money Given unto my Sons and
daughter be not paid is abovemencened being Lawfully demanded & not
paid, I Give them or Either of them full power and Good Right to Enter
in upon the Estate that I now have Given unto my son John Baker and the
Same peaceably and Quietly to possess and Injoy till the said Sums and
all Charges Caused thereby be fully Satisfyed and paid.
Item I Geive unto my Son Leonard Baker all my fields and Cloases of
Ground the Loare said of my field called the Baksaid Commonly called Mr.
Braddon’s Ground after my deces.
Item I Geive an other four pounds unto my Son William Baker to be
devided in four payments That is the first Twenty Shillings to be paid
within one year after my deses & the Second Twenty Shillings to be paid
within two years after my deces & the Third Twenty Shillings to be paid
within 3 years after my deces & the fourth Twenty Shillings to be paid
within four years after my deces.
Item I Geive unto my daughter Elizabeth Baker an Other fife pounds to be
devided and paid in fife payments that is The first Twenty Shillings to
be paid within one year after my deces & the Second Twenty Shillings to
be paid within two years after my deces and the Third Twenty Shillings
to be paid within 3 years after my deces and the fourth Twenty Shillings
to be paid within four years after my deces and the fifth Twenty
Shillings to be paid within fife years after my deces.
Item I give unto my son Richard an other fife pounds to be paid in
Twenty Shillings Yearly for 5 Years after my deces. And I make my
brother Wm. Baker Trustee over my Son Richard Baker.
Item if any or Either of the above Sums of this fourteen Pounds that I
have Geiven unto my two Sons and daughter

Be not paid as is above Meinecd being Lawfully demanded and not paid I
Give them or Either of them full power and Good Right to Enter in upon
this Estate that I have Given unto my son Leonard Baker and the same to
possess and Injoy till that the said Sums and all Charges Caused thereby
be fully Satisfyed and paid.
Item If my Son John Baker should happen to dye within fife years after
my deces none of the Summs above Shall be paid but only that which is
due at his death, because there is only his Life upon the Estate.
Item all my dunge the foresd. the house I Give unto my son Leonard.
Item all my dunge the Backsd. my house I Give unto my son John.
Item All the Rest of my Goods Both Quick and dead Right & Titel in any
thing or things being of what Nature or property Soever I Geive unto my
Two Sons John Baker and Leonard Baker Home I do make my whole & sole
Executors and to See that my depts. And Legesses be paid & performed.
Witness my Hand & Seal this fifteenth day of January 1749/50.

The within written Will of the within named John Baker deceased was
proved in common form the Sixth Day of April 1750 And before the
Reverend Master William Waddon Clerk, Master of Arts Official, and Admon
of the Goods as of the Said deced And of all Things howsoever concerning
the said Will was granted to the Executors therein named being first
Sworn in/ Saving, etc.
