The Will of John Olliver, dated 4 February1882
This is the Last Will and Testament
Of me John Olliver of the parish of Fowey in the County of Cornwall
Farmer in manner following. I give and bequeath unto my kinswoman Hannah
Jane Condy Bath a legacy of Twenty five pounds Sterling. I also give and
bequeath unto my niece Eliza Annie Beale the sum of Twenty five pounds
Sterling. These legacies to be paid when the said Legatees attain the
ages of twenty-one years All the rest residue and remainder of
whatsoever nature or kind soever both real and personal property, money,
and securities for monies good chattels and effects that I die possessed
of I give devise and bequeath unto my Son Charles Olliver whom I
nominate constitute and appoint sole Executor of this my last Will and
Testament to pay and discharge all my just debts the aforesaid legacies
funeral and testamentary expenses of proving this my last Will and
Testament at the same time revoking and making void all Will or Wills by
me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fourth day
of February one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two

Signed by the said John Olliver the Testator as his last Will and
Testament in the presence of us being present at the same time who at
his request in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribe
our names as Witnesses

Codicil
This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me John Olliver as
is described in this my said Will hereinbefore mentioned
Whereas I have in and by my said Will hereinbefore written given and
bequeathed a legacy or sum of Twenty-five pounds to Eliza Annie Beale
Now I do hereby revoke my said Will so far as it relates to the said
legacy which is to be Five pounds Sterling instead of the former sum or
legacy bequeathed for her own absolute use. And in all other respects I
ratify and confirm my said Will In witness whereof I hereunto set my
hand this fifteenth day of April one thousand and eight hundred and
eighty-two

presence who in his presence and in the presence of each other of us at
the same time subscribe our names as Witnesses

The District Registry at Bodmin
In Her Majesty’s Court of Probate
BE IT KNOWN, that at the date hereunder written, the last Will and
Testament with a Codicil (a Copy whereof is hereunto annexed) of John
Olliver, late of the parish of Fowey in the County of Cornwall retired
Farmer deceased, who died on the 24th day of March 1883, at Fowey
aforesaid who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at
Fowey aforesaid within the District of the County of Cornwall, was
proved and registered in the District Registry attached to the Probate
Division of Her Majesty’s High Court of Justice at Bodmin and that
administration of the personal estate of the said deceased was granted
by the aforesaid Court to Charles Olliver, the Son and sole Executor
named in the said Will he having been first sworn well and faithfully to
administer the same. And it is hereby certified that an Affidavit in
verification of the Account of the said estate has been delivered duly
stamped wherein it is shown that the gross value of the said estate
amounts to £499.3.6 and no more.
