The Will of Joseph Andrew, dated 17 August 1777
In the Name of God, Amen. I Joseph Andrew of the
Parish of St Enoder
in the County of Cornwall, Yeoman, being at this time in a weak State
of bodily health, but of a sound and disposing Mind, memory and
Understanding
do male and ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and
Form following
First – I resigne my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave
it and my Body to the Earth to be decently interred at the
Discretion of my Executors herein aftenamed
Item – I Will that all my just Debts and Funeral Charges be fully
satisfied and paid
Item – I give and bequeath unto my sons John & Joseph, and Daughters
Mary & Elizabeth the sum of forty Pounds each, to be paid
at their arriving at the full age of twenty one years each,
provided that my Trustees hereafter named shall think
my Estate equal to such a Bequest without Damage
to my Executors
If any of my above-named Children should die before he
she or they arrive at the age of twenty one, my will is that
such Portion or Portions be equally divided among the Survi
vor or Survivors of them
Lastly All the Residue and Remainder of my real and personal Estate
whatsoever (except before excepted, I give, devise and bequeath
unto my beloved Wife and Son Thomas share and share
alike, provided that he, my said Son, shall conduct
himself so as to be approved of by my Trustees, if
otherwise, to be portioned at their discretion
And I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my dear Brother
John Andrew and my good Friends John Trebilcock & Samuel Trebil=
cock, Yeoman, and my Wife Mary Andrew, Executors of this my last Will
and Testament and
Guardians over my Children, In Witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and Seal this seventeenth Day of August in the
year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and seventy seven

Testator as and for his last Will and Testament
in Presence of us, who have subscribed our name
as Witnesses thereunto in Presence of the
said Testator and of each other
