The Will of John Varcoe, dated 30 March 1867

This is the last Will and testament of me John Varcoe of Hendra in the
parish of Saint Dennis Yeoman, first I give and bequeath unto my wife
Joice an annuity of Ten pounds per annum for and during the term of her
natural life the said annuity to be paid to her in equal quarterly
payments if demanded together with my best Feather Bed Bedstead and
bedding all complete, I give to my son Josiah the sum of three hundred
pounds and to each and every of my Grandchildren three pounds each those
Legacies to be paid within twelve months after my decease And from and
after the decease of my Wife I give to my daughter Belinda Bennetto one
annuity of three pounds per annum to be paid into her own hands or to
her written Order by quarterly payments, The said annuity to be for her
sole use and management and not to be under the control or for the use
of her Husband in any way whatsoever I give to my three daughters
Elizabeth Hooper Mary Varcoe and Jane Stick the sum of Fifty pounds each
to be paid to them severally within six months after the death of my
Widow The said Legacies of Fifty pounds each shall be for the sole and
entire use of my said daughters without any interference or control of
the sum or rendering any part or parts thereof liable to pay any debts
or other liabilities of either of their respective husbands And I do
hereby constitute and appoint my four sons John Richard Josiah and
William to be the Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby
giving unto them in equal

shares All the rest and residue and remainder of all my Monies Credits
goods and Chattels and Effects of every description whatsoever and
wheresoever I also hereby appoint my son John to be the acting or
managing Trustee of my Estate and effects at the same time requiring him
to render a true and correct account of matters to his Co Executors once
at least in every year And I do hereby revoke and annul all former and
other Wills by me at any time heretobefore made or executed
