The Will of Benjamin Trewhela dated 7 October 1818
In the Name of God Amen I
Benjamin Trewhela of the Parish of Crowan in the County of
Cornwall being in sound memory do make and declare this my last Will and
Testament in manner and form following. First I give and bequeath my
Soul unto the hands of Almighty God that gave it trusting in the merits
and death of Jesus Christ my only Saviour for the remission and
forgiveness of all my sins. And secondly I give my Body to Christian
burial at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter mentioned.
Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved Wife Margaret Trewhela
and all my children all my worldly Goods and Chattles,
the sum to remain in possession of my beloved Wife without intermission
from either one or more or all my children, as long as she may continue
a Widow, and in cause her the said Margaret Trewhela shall get married
she is to be disinherited from all the property then in her and the
families possession with the exception of one Shilling. And furthermore
I do appoint and constitute Mr John Tucker and Mr Henry Glasson as
guardians over my beloved Wife and family for their better welfare and
improvement. In witness hereof I have set my hand this 7th day of
October 1818.

Will of Benjamin Trewhela yeoman deced Proved in common
form Before William Short Clark D. D. Archdeacon &c of all and singular
the Goods &c of the said deced, or any way concerning the said Will, was
and is granted to Margaret Trewhela the Widow of the
said deced and Sole Executrix named in the said Will.
