IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Robert Hoblyn
of Nanswhiddon in the County of Cornwall Esq being sick in body but
thanks be to God of sound and disposing mind memory judgement and under-
standing considering my owne mortality and being desirous that a firm peace love
and union may be firmely sealed and continued betweene alle my Children after my
decease doe make this my last will and testamt in manner and form following
In primus I commend my soule into the hands of Allmighty God hoping for pardon of my
sins and eternall salvation in and through the meritts of the Lord Jesus christ my
blessed Lord Redeemer and Saviour and my body to a decent and Christian buriall
according to the discretion of my Executors hereafter named And as for and concerning
my temporall Estate which God in his goodnesse hath blessed me with and made me a steward
of I doe give settle and dispose the same as followeth
First I give convey and devise unto Robert Hoblyn my third son and to his heirs
forever All that my Mannor and Lordship of Trevedoe in the pishes of Cardinham and
Warleggon or elsewhere in the County of Cornwall, and all my Lands tenemts Grist? mills
Crate? mills stamping mills tinne bounds tinne works and Hereditamts whatsoever in the sd
pishes of Warleggon and Cardinham he the said Robert Hoblyn paying unto my son
Carew Hoblyn the sum of Fower hundred pounds sterling when he shall accomplish the
age of one and twenty yeares, and alsoe yielding and paying unto him my said son Carew
Hoblyn the yearly sume of Fifteen pounds by quarterly payments from the time of my death
untill he shall accomplish the age of one and twenty yeares, And in case my said son Robert
Hoblyn shall refuse or neglect to pay or xxx xxxxx to the said Carew hoblyn the said sume of
Fower hundred pounde at his said age of one and twenty yeares and to pay the said annuity
of Fifteen pounds in the meanetime then and in such case I doe hereby give and devise
unto the said Carew Hoblyn my son and his heires forever the moyty of the Mannor of
Trevedoe (about twelve words crossed out here) and of all other the said
Lands and pmises devised to the said Robert Hoblyn my son Provided alsoe that in
case the said Carew Hoblyn shall happen to dy before he attaine the said age of one
and twenty yeares then my will and meaning is that the said Robert Hoblyn my son
shall pay and satisfy the said Fowere hundred pounds amongst the rest of my Children
then living by Fifty pounds yearly to witt evvery one of my said Children his or her
propotionate pt thereof as they bare in seniority of yeares one after the other every yeare
after the death of my said son Carew Hoblyn by equall portons, And I doe hereby charge my
said Mannor of Trevedoe and other the pmises devised unto my said son Robert Hoblyn
wth the payment thereof, And in case my said son Robert shall neglect or refuse to pay the
same accordingly then and in such Case each of my said Children that shall be unpaid his
pportonate part shall enter on all the said Mannor Lands and pmises and take and
receive the rents Issues and pfitts thereof untill he she or they shall be respectively paid
and satisfied his her or their respective parte of the said Fower hundred pounds
Item my will is that my Lands which I have by deede charged with and conveyed to trustees
for the paymte respectively of three hundred pounds and Fifty pounds to Richard Hoblyn my
second son, and of Five hundred pounds a peice respectively to Thomas Hoblyn
my Fowerth son John Hoblyn my fifth son Francis Hoblyn and William Hoblyn my
youngest sons, Grace Hoblyn and Mary Hoblyn my younger daughters shall soe
Continue charged with five hundred pounds a peice to be paid to them respectively as is
appointed and limited by the said deede and according to the powers therein granted
and in the meanetime they the said Thomas John francis William Grace and Mary Hoblyn
are to have such respective maintenance and allowance as is ordered and appointed
by the said deede
Item I grant devise leave and demise to my said sixth son Carew Hoblyn one third pte of
my Messuage and tenemt Called Tredrisack otherwise Treisack in the pish of St Collumbe
the Lower which I purchased of John Trelawney Esq to have and to hold to the said
Carew Hoblyn his Executors admins and Assignes for and during the full time and terme
of Ninety Nine years reconened? from the time of my death If he the said Carew Hoblyn
and Francis Hoblyn and William Hoblyn my sonnes or either of them shall soe
long happen to Live yielding and paying to my heiress and Assignes the yearly rent of
twenty fower shillings by quarterly payments during the said Estate
Item whereas I stand estated by two severall leases of and in the other two partes of the said
Messuage and tenemt of Tredrisack granted by Sr John Seyntaubin Barronett and Dame Anne
his wife and Sir George Cary Knt I doe hereby devise grant and assigne to my said
sonne Carew Hoblyn the said two partes of the said Messuage and tenemt of Tredrisack
and all my Estate terme and interest therein to have and to hold to the sd Carew
Hoblyn his Executors admins and Assignes for and during the remainder of the tearme
and Estate I have therein by virtue of the said Leases by and under the respective Rents
reservations Covenants and Conditions in the sd respective deedes of Lease mentioned reserved
and Contained if the Lives in the respective deedes of Lease named shall soe long happen to live
Provided always and my will and meaning is that my said son Carew Hoblyn shall pay
out of my said tenemt of Tredrisack to my son John Hoblyn Fifty pounds to my son Francis
Hoblyn Fifty pounds and to my son William Hoblyn one hundred pounds as soon as it can
be raised out of the pfitts of the said tenemt after my decease And my will and meaning
is and I doe hereby devise and appoint that my Executors hereafter named and the
survivor of them shall imediatly after my decease sett out the tenemt of Tredrisack to an
yearly rent untill the said respective sumes of Fifty pounds Fifty pounds and one hundred
pounds shall be raised out of the pfitts thereof, and afterwards my said son Carew Hoblyn
shall have the possession and pfitts thereof during the Estate And if my said son Carew
Hoblyn shall happen to dy before he attaine the age of one and twenty yeares
then and in such Case my will and meaning is that my said son William Hoblyn shall have
and enjoy the said tenemt of Tredrisack for and during the Estate and tearme hereby devised
granted and Leased of one third parte and the Leases granted by the sd Sr John Seyntaubin
and Dame Anne his wife and Sr George Cary of the two other partes and by and
under rents Covenants and Conditions of the sd devise and Leases And the said William
Hoblyn paying unto Thomas John and Francis Hoblyn my sons Fifty pounds a peice to be raised
out of the said tenemt by my Executors or the survivor of them by the pfitts of the same as
above is described if the said fifty pounds a peice be not raised for the sd John & Francis
in the life time of the said Carew Hoblyn I give unto each of my servants which have
beene with me three years before the time of my death tenn shillings Item I give to the poore
of Gorran Mevagissey Collumbe major and Lower St Collumbe Fourty shillings to each pish
and to the poore of the pish of Warleggan and Little Colan twenty shillings a peice to be
paid by my Executors to the respective overseers of the pishes or to be distributed
as my Executors think fitt. Item I give to Anne Bishop my daughter
over and above the porton ordered her in marriage ten pounds to be paid whin a yeare
after my death and to Anne her daughter ten pounds to be paid when the said
Anne the daughter attaine to the age of Fower yeares. Item I doe hereby revoke disanull
and make voide all the portons monyes and pvisions made designed and declared by me by any
deede or deedes unto Anne Hoblyn my daughter now Anne Bishop Robert Hoblyn my son and
Carew Hoblyn my son, and the said Anne Robert and Carew to have no benefit of any monyes
designed declared ot allotted to them or either of them by any such deede or deedes, they being
pvided for by this my will and testamt. And I doe alsoe according to a Clause pvison or
Condition of this sd deede revoke soe much thereof as concerns the mannor of Trevedoe
and lands in Warleggan and Cardinham hereby devised to the sd Robert Hoblyn my son
Item I doe hereby release my Brother Thomas Hoblyn of and from all the arrears of rent
now due unto me. Item I give unto each of my Brothers and their wives and unto my Brothers
in Lawe Lewis Tremayne Hugh Trevanion and Francis Burges and to their wives respectively
and to my son John Bishop Clarke a Mourning Ring of twenty shillings price a peice

trustees named in the deede of trust to them by me made for raising of portions for my younger
Children a mourning ring of twenty shillings apeice. Item I give to my son Richard
Hoblyn beyond the three hundred and Fifty pounds allotted him by my deede of trust Fifty
pounds. Item I give to my eldest son Edward Hoblyn his Ececutors and Admins all my Chattles
Leases and tearmes of yeares in Tregoowe Tregooth Andregowth and Nantornan in the pishes
of higher St Collumbe Lower St Collumbe and Little Colan provided and upon Condition
that he pay his Brothers and sisters their portions and Annuities as is pvided for by my
said deede of trust and not herein revoked, and that he seale? and make good all such
Leases as I have lately contracted for in Mawgon Mevagissey or elsewhere, and my
Executors to have the benefitt of the Fines? of the same, and that he pay my wife one
hundred pounds out of my tenemt of Tregoowe as a token of my Love to her the sume
to be paid whin one yeare next after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my
younger Children twenty shillings a peice to be bestowed in rings in remembrance of me
Item my will is that my old servant John Long be maintained and pvided for during his
life by my Executors Item I give unto the sd Robert Hoblyn my son all the
household goods that now are in my house of Trevedoe
Lastly I doe hereby make ordaine constitute and appoint my said beloved
wife Grace Hoblyn and my said eldest son Edward Hoblyn to be ioint
Executors of this my will and testamt desiring and requiring them to pay
and satisfy all my just debts and Legacies and in all things to pforme this my
Last will and testamt and the better to enable them so to? I doe hereby give devise
and bequeath unto them all the residue of my goods and Chattles not herein and
hereby given and bequeathed, and if any difference arise between my said
wife and Children any or either of them which I beseech God of his goodnesse
to prevent I desire my said trustees in the said deed of trust named to end
Compose and reconcile the same, and I hereby charge my said wife and
Children to submitt to such end? award order or reconciliation as they or the
survivors or survivor of them shall make xxxx: And I doe likewise charge all my
Children to shew all obedience and Love to their Mother and to live in true
Love Friendshipp and union one with the other that being the principle way and
meanes whereby they may expect the blessing of God both here and hereafter
which God grant unto them all In witnesse hereof and that this is my last will
and testamt I have hereunto sett my hand and seale and declared and published
this to be my last will and testamt this first day of June Anno Regni dni nostri

A Codicil to be added to and annexed to the last will and testamt of Mr Robert Hoblyn
of Nanswiddon Esq
 
I the said Robert Hoblyn doe hereby declare my further will and meaning is that
if my son Edward Hoblyn doe pay unto my son Robert Hoblyn six hundred pounds
whin one yeare after my decease, and to my son Care Hoblyn the sum of seaven
hundred pounds whin one yeare after my decease and in the meantime to each of
them twenty pounds yearly by quarterly payments the first payment to be made
to each of them att the end of three monthes after my decease then the demise of
my Lands in Trevedoe and Chattles in Warleggan and Tredrisack
als Tretisack and of the Leases thereof to be voide and my son Edward Hoblyn
and his heires to have the said Lands and Leases; but if I make in my life time
other pvisions for my said sons Robert and Carew Hoblyn then the said severall
sums of six and seaven hundred pounds a peice to be otherwise disposed of by me and
in Case of my not disposall thereof the same is to come to my Executors Item
I give to Grace my beloved wife in Lieu of the former one hundred pounds charged
in my will on Tregoowe one hundred pounds; alsoe in Lieu of what I gave
to Francis and William my sons chargeable on Tredrisack I give to each
of them Fifty pounds a peice to be imployed to bind them out to trade
when my trustees require it
Item I give to my daughter in Lawe Damaris Hoblyn a gold ring
of twenty shillings price In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my
hand and seale this sixteenth day of August in the yeare of o Lord 1683
