KNOW all Men by these presents that We JOHN WRIGHT the younger, of the parish of St. Clements in the County of Cornwall Gentn. and WILLIAM BOND of the Parish of St. Marys within the Borough of Truro in the said County Innkeeper are held and firmly bound unto ALEXANDER ALLEN and JOHN LAVIN Churchwardens and HENRY TREWELLA and RICHD. BRAY Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St. Clements in the said County (in Trust for the parishioners of the said Parish) in Forty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said ALEXANDER ALLEN and JOHN LAVIN Churchwardens and HENRY TREWOLLA & RICHd. BRAY Overseers or their certain Attorney, their executors, administrators or Assigns. To which payment well & truly to be made we bind ourselves, and each of us jointly and severally, and our and each and every of our Heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presents. Sealed with our Seals and dated the Second Day of December in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Three.

The Condition of this obligation is such that whereas MARTHA RALPH of the said Parish of St. Clements singlewoman was on or about the seventh Day of October last past at Lambessons within the said parish of St. Clements deliver'd of a Male bastard Child which is likely to become chargeable to this said Parish of St. Clements - If therefore the said JOHN WRIGHT the Younger and WILLIAM BOND or either of them their or either of their Heirs, executors or administrators do & shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully and clearly indemnify and save harmless as well the above named Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of St. Clements and their successors for the time being, as also all and singular the other Parishioners and Inhabitants of the said Parish of St. Clements which now are, or hereafter shall be for the time being, of and from all manner of Costs, taxes, rates, assessments, and charges whatsoever, for or by reason of the birth, education, and maintenance of the said Child, and of and from all actions, suits, troubles and other charges and demands whatsoever, touching or concerning the same, then this present obligation to be void, otherwise of force.
