Bee it known unto all men by these presents that wee JOHN FRANCIS of the parish of St. Erme in the County of Cornwall husbandman and WILLIAM FRANCIS of the said parish & County husbandman are held and ffirmely bound unto ROBERT AVERY of the parish of St. Clements in the said County Gent and THOMAS TREGIAN of the said parish of St. Clements in the said County Yeoman (Overseers of the poor of the said parish of St. Clements) in the summe of twenty pounds of Lawfull money of England for which payment well & truly to be made & paid Wee bind our Selves and each of us our heirs Exors Admors and Every and Either of them for the whole and in the whole Jointly and Severally ffirmely by these presents Signed with our seals and Dated this Tenth day of January Anno Domi 1703.

The Condition of this above Obligation is such that if the above bounden JOHN FRANCIS and WILLIAM FRANCIS or either of them their heirs Exors or Admors or any or either of them shall & do from tyme to tyme and att all tymes hereafter pay and discharge all costs and charges which shall or may happen or come in or by & on this said parish of St. Clements by reason of a Man Child Now in the custody & possession of the above bounden JOHN FRANCIS and WILLIAM FRANCIS or one of them (which said Child was by one ELIZABETH PENROSE before Justice Ennys Sworne & Named to be the Child of the above-bounden JOHN FRANCIS) and save harmless and keep Indemnifyed the above Named ROBERT AVERY and THOMAS TREGIAN Overseers of the poor of the parish of St. Clements aforesaid and their successors within the said parish of St. Clements as overseers of and within the said parish of St. Clements that then this present obligation to be frustrate void and of noe Effect or validity in the Law whatsoever Otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.
