Know all men by these Presents that We JOHN CROWLE of the parish of St. Clement in the County of Cornwall Mason and PETER MARKS of the same parish Mason are jointly and Severally held and firmly bound to JOHN LAVIN and WILLIAM GATLEY the younger of the same parish Churchwardens of the said parish of St. Clement and HENRY PRYNN ANDREW Esquire, JOHN ELLIS and HENRY TREWOLLA Overseers of the poor of the said parish of St Clement, and their Successors in Office in the Sum of Sixty pounds of good and Lawful Money of Great Britain, To be paid to them the said JOHN LAVIN, WILLIAM GATLEY the younger, HENRY PRYNN ANDREW, JOHN ELLIS and HENRY TREWOLLA, or their true and Lawful Attorney, Successors in Office, Executors Admors or Assigns, For which payment well and faithfully to be made We bind ourselves and each of us, our and each of our Heirs Executors and Admors jointly and severally. firmly by these presents. Sealed with our Seals, Dated this Seventh day of December In the Fortieth year of the Reign of King Geoirge the third, of Great Britain and so forth, And in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety nine.

Whereas ELIZABETH MENEER of the said parish of St. Clement (Single Woman) is now pregnant with Child or Children, Now the condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bounden JOHN CROWLE and PETER MARKS or either of them their or either of their Heirs Exors or Admors, do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully clearly and absolutely acquit exonerate and discharge or otherwise well and sufficiently save and keep harmless and indemnify as well the above named JOHN LAVIN and WILLIAM GATLEY the younger. Churchwardens, and HENRY PRYNN ANDREW Esquire, JOHN ELLIS and HENRY TREWOLLA Overseers of the poor of the said parish of St. Clement which now are or hereafter shall be for the time being and any of them, Of and from all and all manner of Expenses, damages, Costs and Charges, whatsoever which shall or may in any manner at any Time hereafter arise, happen, come, grow, or be imposed upon them any or either of them, for or by reason or means of the said ELIZABETH MENHEER’s being so pregnant with Child or Children as aforesaid, Or for or by reason or means of the Birth, Maintenance, Education and bringing up of such Child or Children that she the said ELIZABETH MENHEER is now pregnant with and may be delivered of, And of and from all Actions, Suits, Troubles, Charges, Costs, damages and demands whatsoever touching and Concerning the same then this Obligation shall be void and of no effect Or else shall remain continue and be in full force and Virtue.
