Know all Men by these presents That We STEPHEN MAYNARD and JOHN MAYNARD both of the Parish of St. Stephens in Bramwell in the County of Cornwall Tinners and HENRY MAYNARD of the parish of St. Mewans in the said County Tinner are held and firmly bound to ALEXANDER ALLEN and JOHN LAVVEN the younger Churchwardens and WILLIAM PERROW JOHN MICHELL and HENRY TREVOLLA Overseers of the Poor of the parish of St. Clements in the said County of Cornwall (in trust for the Parishioners of the said Parish) in Forty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said ALEXANDER ALLEN JOHN LAVVEN the Younger WILLIAM PERROW JOHN MICHELL and HENRY TREWOLLA or their certain Attorney Executors Administrators or Assigns To which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of us our and each and every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals Dated this Eleventh day of June in the thirty fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety five

The Condition of this Obligation is such That Whereas MARY MAY of the said Parish of St. Clements Widow hath declared herself to be with Child and that the said Child is likely to be born a Bastard and be chargeable to the said Parish of St. Clements and that the above bounden STEPHEN MAYNARD is the Father of the said Child. If therefore the said STEPHEN MAYNARD JOHN MAYNARD and HENRY MAYNARD any or either of them their any or either of their Heirs Executors or Administrators do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully and Clearly indemnify and save harmless as well the above named Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of St. Clements and their Successors for the time being as also all and singular the other Parishioners and Inhabitants of the said Parish of St. Clements which now are or hereafter shall be for the time being of and from all manner of Costs Taxes Rates Assessments and Charges whatsoever for or by reason of the Birth Education and Maintenance of the said Child and of and from all Actions Suits troubles and other charges and demands whatsoever touching or concerning the same Then this present obligation to be void and of no effect otherwise to Remain in full force and virtue.
