Know all men by these Presents that we THOMAS HOSKIN the Younger and THOMAS HOSKIN the Elder both of the Parish of St. Allen(?) in the County of Cornwall Yeomen, are held and firmly bound unto THOMAS SHEAR and BENJAMIN CLARKE Churchwardens of the Parish of St. Clements in the said County and JOHN HARRIS and EDWARD JENNINGS Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish and their successors in the sum of Fifty Pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain, to be paid to the said THOMAS SHEAR and BENJAMIN CLARKE Churchwardens and JOHN HARRIS and EDWARD JENNINGS Overseers their Exors. and Adms. and every and either of them jointly and severally by these Presents Being Sealed with our Seals Dated this Eleventh day of March in the twenty fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the Second and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty two.

Whereas ALICE KNEEBONE of the said Parish of St. Clements singlewoman hath lately been delivered of a Male Bastard Child within the said Parish of St. Clements and hath sworn before JOHN THOMAS Esq. one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace of and for the said County that the above bounden THOMAS HOSKIN the Younger is the Father of the said Male Child which she hath lately been delivered of and which is likely to become chargeable to the said Parish of St. Clements NOW the Condition of this present obligation is such that if the above bounden THOMAS HOSKIN the Younger and THOMAS HOSKIN the Elder and either of them their and either of their Heirs, Exors. and Admrs. do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully and firmly acquitt exonerate and discharge or otherwise well and sufficiently save harmless and keep indemnified as well the above named THOMAS SHEAR and BENJAMIN CLARKE Churchwardens and JOHN HARRIS and EDWARD JENNINGS Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Clements aforesaid and their successors for the time being and every of them as also the Inhabitants & Parishioners of the said Parish of St. Clements which now are or hereafter shall be for the time being and every of them of and from all and all manner of Expenses Damages Cash and Charges whatsoever which shall or may in any manner at any Time arise happen grow or be imposed upon them or either of them for or by reason or means of the Birth Maintenance Education or bringing up of the said Male Child of which the said ALICE KNEEBONE hath been delivered of as aforesaid And of all and from all Actions Suits Troubles Charges Damages and Demands whatsoever touching or concerning the same that then this obligation to be void or else to be and remain in full force and effect and virtue.
