KNOW all men by these presents that We JOHN HORE of Parish of Saint Clements in the County of Cornwall Yeoman, and STEPHEN HORE of the Parish of Saint Breock in the said County Yeoman are held and firmly bound unto EDWARD GIDDY, and JOHN PARKER Churchwardens and JAMES VIVIAN Esquire and EDWARD GIDDY Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Clements in the said County (in trust for the Parishioners of the said parish) in forty Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to the said EDWARD GIDDY and JOHN PARKIN and JAMES VIVIAN Churchwardens and Overseers of the said Parish or their certain Attorney Exors. Admors or Assigns To which payment well and truly made we bind our and each and every of our Heirs Exors Admors and Assigns firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals and dated this twenty seventh Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty two.

The Condition of this Obligation is such that whereas ELIZABETH HARRIS of the parish of Saint Clements in the said County Single Woman was on the seventh Day of March last past in the Parish aforesaid delivered of a Female Bastard Child, and the said Bastard Child is likely to become chargeable to the said parish of Saint Clements, and hath charged the above bounden JOHN HORE with having gotten her with child of the said Bastard Child. If therefore the said JOHN HORE and STEPHEN HORE or either of them their or either of their Heirs Exors Admors or Assigns do or shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully and clearly indemnify keep and save harmless all every and singular the Churchwardens and Overseers and their Successors for the time being as well as all and singular the other Parishioners and Inhabitants that are or hereafter shall be of the said Parish of and from all and all manner of Costs Rates Taxes Charges and Assessments whatsoever by means or reasons of the Birth Education and Maintainance of the said Bastard Child as well as of and from all manner of actions suits Litigations Troubles Demands and Charges whatsoever touching or concerning the same then this present obligation to be void or otherwise to remain in force.
