KNOW all men by these Presents that we EDWARD GIDDY and
JAMES GIDDY both of the Parish of St. Clements in the
County of Cornwall Gents. are held and firmly bound to
JOHN PERKIN one of the Churchwardens and JAMES VIVIAN
Esqr. one of the Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of St. Clements in the Sum of Forty pounds of
lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said
Churchwarden and Overseer their Executors or
Administrators Successors or Assigns To which payment
well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of
us by himself for and in the whole our Heirs Executors
and Administrators and each of them firmly by these
Presents Sealed with our Seals Dated this Fifth day of
December in the Twenty second year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of
Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the
Faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord One
Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty One.
Whereas PHILLIPPA als PHILLIS CLEMOW of the said parish
of St. Clements Widow hath lately been delivered of a
male Bastard Child which is likely to become chargeable
to the said Parish of St. Clements.
NOW the Condition of this Obligation is such that if the
above bound EDWARD GIDDY and JAMES GIDDY or any or
either of them their or any or either of their Heirs
Executors or Administrators do and shall from Time to
Time and at all Times hereafter fully and clearly acquit
free and discharge or well and sufficiently save and
keep harmless and indemnified the above named JOHN
PERKIN one of the Churchwardens and the said JAMES
VIVIAN one of the Overseers of the Poor of the said
parish of St. Clements and their successors for the Time
being and every of them as also the Inhabitants and
Parishioners of the said parish which now are or
hereafter shall be for the Time being and every of them
of and from all manner of Expences Damages Costs and
Charges whatsoever which shall or may at any Time
hereafter arise happen grow or be imposed upon them or
either of them or any of them for or by Reason or means
of the Maintenance Education and bringing up such male
Child and of and from all other Actions Suits Troubles
Charges Damages and Demands whatsoever touching or
concerning the same Then this Obligation to be void else
to remain in full force and virtue.
