Know all men by these presents that We WILLIAM GATLEY of the parish of St. Clements in the County of Cornwall Gardener and THOMAS GATTLEY of the same place are held and firmly bound unto JOHN TREZISE and JAMES GIPSON Churchwardens and ALEXANDER ALLEN Gent & HENRY TREWOLLAR Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of St. Clements Trustees for the parishioners and Inhabitants of the said parish in the sum of Forty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said Churchwardens and Overseers their Executors Administrators Successors or Assigns To which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of us jointly and severally for the whole our and each and every of our Heirs Exors and Admors firmly by these presents sealed with our Seals Dated this Thirtieth day of July in the Twenty seventh year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Seven.

Whereas ANN BEARD of the said parish of St. Clements singlewoman hath sworn before EDWARD COLLINS Esquire one of His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Cornwall aforesaid that the above bounden THOMAS GATTLEY is the father of a female Child she hath lately been delivered of which is likely to become chargeable to the said parish of St. Clements. Now the Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bound WILLIAM GATTLEY and THOMAS GATTLEY or either of them their or either of their Heirs Exors or Admors do and shall from Time to Time & at all Times hereafter fully and clearly acquit free and discharge or well and sufficiently save and keep harmless and indemnified the above named JOHN TREZISE and JAMES GIPSON ALEXANDER ALLEN and HENRY TREWOLLAR Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of St. Clements and their Successors for the Time being and every of them as also the Inhabitants and Parishioners of the said parish of St. Clements which now or hereafter shall be for the Time being and every of them of and from all and all manner of Expences Damages Costs and Charges whatsoever which shall or may at any Time hereafter arise happen grow or be imposed upon them or either or any of them for or by reason or means of the Birth Maintenance Education and bringing up of such female Child as above mentioned And of and from all other Actions Suits Troubles Charges Damages and Demands whatsoever touching or concerning the same Then this Obligation to be void else to remain in full force.
