The Order of JOHN BULLER and WILLIAM JOPE, Esquires two of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the said County, one whereof is of the Quorum, and both residing next unto the Limits of the parish Church within the Parish of Saint Cleer in the said County, made the fourteenth Day of December One Thousand Eight Hundred and twenty seven concerning a female Bastard Child lately born in the Parish of Saint Cleer aforesaid, of the Body of ROSAMOND RAWLING, deceased single Woman.

Whereas it hath appeared unto us the said Justices, as well upon the Complaint of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Saint Cleer as upon the Oath of the said JENNY SNELL of the same parish of Saint Cleer that she the said ROSAMOND RAWLING on the Second Day of November now last past, was delivered of a Female Bastard Child at the Church Town in the Parish of Saint Cleer in the said County and that the said Bastard Child is chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Cleer and further that JOHN KITTOW late of the Parish of Saint Stephens by Saltash in the County aforesaid Butcher did beget the said Bastard Child on the Body of her the said ROSAMOND RAWLING - it has been duly proved upon oath that the said JOHN KITTOW had been duly summoned to appear before us the said Justices to the end that we might examine into the cause and circumstances of the premises. And whereas the said JOHN KITTOW has neglected to appear before us according to the said summons. We therefore, upon Examination of the Cause and Circumstances of the Premises, as well upon the examination of the said ROSAMOND RAWLING taken on Oath the twelfth day of October last before the said WILLIAM JOPE one of the Justices above named, as otherwise, do hereby adjudge him the said JOHN KITTOW to be the reputed Father of the said Bastard Child And thereupon we do order, as well for the better Relief of the said Parish of Saint Cleer as for the Sustentation and Relief of the said Bastard Child that the said JOHN KITTOW shall and do forthwith, upon Notice of this our Order, pay or cause to be paid to the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Saint Cleer or to some or one of them, the Sum of Three Pounds Seventeen shillings and ?-- pence for and towards the Lying-in of the said ROSAMOND RAWLING and the Maintenance of the said Bastard Child to the Time of making this our Order, and for the Charges and Expenses incurred prior to the said Order of Filiation being made, and incident to the obtaining of the said Order, as ascertained on Oath. And we do also hereby further order, that the said JOHN KITTOW shall likewise pay or cause to be paid to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Cleer for the Time being or to some or one of them, the Sum of One shilling and eight Pence weekly and every Week from this present Time, for and towards the Keeping, Sustentation and Maintenance of the said Bastard Child for and during so long Time as the said Bastard Child shall be chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Cleer. Given under our Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written.
