The Will of Marmaduke Motton, 6 May 1717

In the name of God Amen I Marmaduke Motton of ye pish of Cardinham in the County of Cornwall yeoman being weak in body but perfect in mind and memory praised be God disannulling all former wills have hereby made and ordained this my last will and testament in manor and forme following.
 
Item : I give and bequeath my soul to Allmighty God my Maker and to his Son Jesus Christ my alone Saviour and redeemer and my body for Christian burial.
 
Item : I give and bequeath to Honor the wifw of John Motton my brother fifty shillings to be paid one year after my decease
 
Item : I give and bequeath unto John the son of ye for John Mutton ten shillings to be paid one year after my decease
 
Item : I give and bequeath unto Marmaduke the son of ye aforsd John Mutton ten shillings to be paid within one year after my decease. Allso I give him one pewter dish which is marked with letters and the same as two MM
 
Item : I give and bequeath unto Frances my sister ye wife of William Slyman ten shillings to be paid within one year after my decease
 
Item : I give and bequeath unto all ye rest of my brothers and sisters six pence a piece to be paid within six months after my decease
 
Item : I give and bequeath unto each of the children of my brother William Motton five shillings to be paid within one year after my decease
 
Item : I give and bequeath unto Jone ye daughter of the aforsd Wm Slyman one shilling and my lesser brass crock
 
Item : I give and bequeath unto Thomasine ye daughter of my sister Elizabeth Pengelly widdo ten shillings a year to be paid her quarterly so long as ye fo Elizabeth liveth
 
Item : I give and bequeath unto each of the children of my sister Mary Briant six pence to be paid within three months after my decease in case it be demanded
 
All the rest of my goods I hereby give and bequeath unto Honor ye daughter of ye aforsd John Motton my brother whome I make and ordain to be my hole and sole executrix to see this my last will and testament performed and my body buryed and I do desire my well beloved friends John Henwood of ye pish of Cardinham and ye for Jno Motton my brother to be trustees over her and ye one not least in any matter or concern whatsoever without consent of ye other. In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seall this sixth day of May one thousand seven hundred and seventeen.
