The Will of William Motton, 9 September 1679

In the name of God Amen I William Motton of the parish of Cardinham in the county of Cornwall yeoman being sick of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God my maker and Redeemer doe hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, first I bequeath my soul to Almighty god my maker and redeemer and my body to Christian burial to be decently buried as my ?-------------- formerly been and as my executrix hereafter named shall think fit.
Item I do hereby give unto Elizabeth my daughter the wife of William Pengelly of this parish the sum of forty shillings to be paid within one year after my decease.
Item I do hereby give unto my son Marmaduke Motton the sum of six pounds and one Moyety of the tenement wherein I now dwell called Hill after the death of my wife Frances during the life of my daughter Elizabeth the said six pounds to be paid him within one year after my decease.
Item I give unto my daughter Anne Buckler the wife of Anthony Buckler of this parish five pounds to be paid within one year of my decease.
Item I give unto my son Stephen Motton the sum of six pounds sterling to be paid within two years after my decease.
Item I give unto William Motton my son the sum of six pounds sterling to be paid within a year and half after my decease.
Item I give unto Sampson Motton my son the sum of three pounds to be paid him two years after my decease.
Item I give unto my son James Motton the sum of six pounds to be paid him five years after my decease.
Item I give unto Frances Motton my daughter the sum of six pounds to be paid her three years after my decease.
Item I give unto John Motton my son the sum of six pounds to be paid him within three years after my decease.
Item I give unto Hester Motton my daughter the sum of six pounds to be paid her four years after my decease.
Item I give unto my daughter Mary Motton the sum of six pounds to be paid her four years after my decease.
Item all the rest of my goods and chattels not hereby given and bequeathed I do give and bequeath unto Frances Motton my wife and she I do make my whole and sole executrix to see this my will performed.
Provided always and I do hereby declare that the sums of money herein and hereby formerly given to my said children shall not be paid to them or any others of them before such by me as they or any or either of them have ?------ release or released? to the executrix of the grandfather? and ?----- of the legacies given to them by his will and testament which legacies my executrix formerly named must make good to my sons children. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my sign and seal the ninth day of September Anno Domini 1679.
