The Will of Thomas Bunt, dated 3 October 1861

Extracted from the District Registry of Her Majesties Court of Probate at Bodmin.

I THOMAS BUNT of Kents Down in Old Cardinham in the Parish of Cardinham in the County of Cornwall yeoman do hereby make this my last will ad testament I give demise and bequeath to Petherick Bunt and John Bunt sons of my late nephew Petherick Bunt of Thorne in Warrleggan and to their heirs and assigns as tenants in common and not as joint tenants all that my estate and interest in the tenement of Lower Carblake in Cardinham aforesaid I give and bequeath unto my nephews William and Petherick sons of my brother William five pounds each I give and bequeath unto my niece Elizabeth daughter of my late sister Mary Rowe five pounds I give and bequeath unto my Niece Elizabeth daughter of my late sister Grace five pounds and I give and bequeath unto my nieces Anne Grace and Elizabeth daughters of my late sister Anne five pounds each I give and bequeath unto my nephew and nieces Thomas Rowenna and Anne children of my sister Mary the sum of five pounds each I give and bequeath unto my nephew John son of my late brother John for his natural life an annuity of four pounds to be paid by my executrix hereinafter named out of the property bequeathed to her and I give him the usual powers of distress as in the case of rent in arrear by lease or common demise I give and bequeath unto Marry Wherry now residing with me as my servant one moiety of my household furniture beds and bedding which shall be in my possession at the time of my decease I direct that all the said legacies shall be paid by my said executrix within twelve months after my decease I give and bequeath all that dwelling house in which I now reside together with the lands and buildings thereunto belonging called Kents Down and also all my estate and interest in the tenement called Symons Old Cardinham and also my estate and interesting the tenement of Castle Old Cardinham and also all my estate and interest in the tenement of Wills’ Old Cardinham all respectively in the Parish of Cardinham aforesaid and also all my estate and interest in the Tenement of Bellisise in the Parish of Broadoak together with all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and where so ever subject to the payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses and legacies and annuity hereinbefore bequeathed unto my niece Mary Meagor daughter of my late sister Anne and to her heirs executors administrators and assigns respectively and I do hereby constitute and appoint her sole executrix of this my will hereby revoking all other wills therefore made by me in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this third day of October 1861

On the 24th day of October 1862 the will of Thomas Bunt late of Kents Down in Old Cardinham in the Parish of Cardinham yeoman deceased was proved by the oath of Mary Meagor (wife of John Meagor / daughter of late sister Anne) the niece of the said deceased and sole executrix named in the will having been first sworn duly to administer.
