The Will of Petherick Bunt, dated 4 April 1812

THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ME Petherick Bunt of the Parish of Cardinham in the County of Cornwall Farmer, First I give and bequeath unto my wife during the term of her natural life One Annuity or clear yearly sum of £25 of lawful money current in Great Britain to be paid by my executor hereinafter named by quarterly payments the first payment to be made on such quarter day as shall next happen after my decease which annuity is to be in lieu bar and satisfaction of all Dower and thirds that my said wife might otherwise be entitled to out of my freehold estates after my decease ALSO I give unto my said wife and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life only all my estate and premises with the appurtenances called Kents Down situate in the Parish of Cardinham specified and now in my occupation Also I give unto my said wife ALL my household furniture and all my life and dead stock on all the estate that I now farm and also all monies bills notes and securities for money of whatever nature or description and all rents and other money due to me at the time of my decease in any way whatsoever ALSO I give unto my mother during the term of her natural life one annuity or clear yearly sum of £10 to be paid by my executors hereinafter named by quarterly payments the first payment to be made on such quarter day as shall happen next after my decease also I give and bequeath unto my sisters and brother Grace, Ann, William, Elizabeth and Dorothy the sum of £10 each ALSO I give unto my sister Mary the sum of one guinea the aforesaid precunarry legacies to be paid by my executor hereinafter named at the expiration of 12 months after my decease .ALSO I give to the poor housekeepers of the Parish of Cardinham aforesaid the sum of £5 to be paid by my executors within one month after my decease to the Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish to be divided by them amongst the said poor housekeepers Also I give devise and bequeath unto my brother John Bunt all that my eighth part of in and throughout all that estate and premises with the appurtenances called Inner Benorth situate in the Parish of Cardinham aforesaid and now in the occupation od William Cragoe and formerly purchased by Samuel Mitchell and Ann Arundell his wife To hold unto the said John Bunt his executors administrators and assigns for all the rest residue and remainder of my term and interest therein Also I give demise and bequeath unto my brother Thomas Bunt all that my quarter part of and in all that estate and premises with the appurtenances called Old Cardinham in the said Parish of Cardinham and now in my occupation Also all that my eighth part of and in all that my estate and premises with the appurtenances called Benorth situate in the said Parish of Cardinham and now in the possession of William Cragoe and formerly the lands of William Jewell (or Sewell) And also all that my one twelfth part of and in all that estate and premises with the appurtenances in one other estate called Benorth situate in Cardinham aforesaid and likewise in the occupation of William Cragoe To hold the said quarter part eighth part and twelfth part respectively of and in the said several estates and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Bunt his heirs and assigns for ever Also I give and bequeath unto my said brother Thomas Bunt All that my leasehold estate and interest in and throughout all all those my three fourth parts of and in the aforesaid estate and premises with the appurtenances called Old Cardinham Also of and in all that my estate and premises with the appurtenances called Wills Old Cardinham in the Parish of Cardinham aforesaid Also all that my leasehold estate and interest of and in the estate and premises with the appurtenances called Benorth aforesaid and also (after my said wifes decease) All my estate and interest of and in all that my aforesaid estate called Kents Downs aforesaid to hold all and singular the said several and respective premises unto the said Thomas Bunt his executors administrators and assigns And I do hereby charge and make chargeable all the before given and devised freehold and leasehold estates and premises with their appurtenances to my said brother Thomas Bunt his heirs executors administrators and assigns respectively with payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses And Lastly I do give and bequeath unto my said brother Thomas all my implements of husbandry and do hereby nominate constitute and appoint him sole executor and residuary Legatee of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said testator Petherick Bunt to this my last will and testament have set to my hand and seal this 4th day of April in the year of Our Lord 1812

The before written will of the before named Petherick Bunt Farmer deceased was proved in Common Form 29th May 1812 before Edward Gilbert ClerkMaster of Atro Official etc and Administration of all and singular the foods etc of the said deceased in any way concerning the said will was and is granted to Thomas Bunt of Cardinham the brother of the said deceased and sole executor named in the said will.
