THIS INDENTURE
made the fourth day of May in the year or Our Lord God
according to the computation of the Church of England
1698 BETWEENE James Grove of Pool Hall in the County of
Salop Esqire of the one part and Patrick Bunt of
Cardynham in the County of Cornwall yeoman of the other
part WITTNESSETH that the said James Grove for and in
consideration of the sum of five shillings of lawfull
money of England to the said James Grove att and before
the sealing and delivery of the said Patrick Bunt in
hand the receipt whereof the said James Grove hereby
acknowledges HATH bargained and sold by these presents
doth bargain and sell unto the said Patrick Bunt his
executors administrators and assigns ALL that one
quarter part the whole in eight parts to be divided of
all that messuage and tenement formerly known by the
name of Old Cardinham situate lying and being within the
parish of Cardynham aforesaid emoluments and
appertenances to the said eighth part of the said
messuages and tenements or any part thereof ? belonging
or in anywise appertaining or therewith now or at any
time or times hereafter use occupied demised enjoyed or
accepted or reputed as any part or parcel thereof or
belonging thereto TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said messuage
tenement lands and premises with the appurtenances unto
the said Patrick Bunt his executors administrators and
assigns from the day next before the day of the date of
these presents for and during and unto the full end and
term of one whole year from ? next ensuing and fully to
be comprised and ended yielding and paying therefore for
the same unto the said James Grove his heirs or assigns
the rent of one pepper corn on the last day of the said
term if the same shall be lawfully demanded to the
intent and purpose that by virtue thereof and for the
statute for transferring uses into possession the said
parties release and conformation of the reversion and
inheritance of the same premises to the said Patrick
Bunt his heirs and assigns for ever. In witness the said
parties have to these presents their hands and seals
interchangeably sett ? on the day and year first written
