Return to Calstock Parish Page Will of Thomas Harris dated 22 April 1818Stamp Office Copy of the Will of Thomas Harris late
of Calstock in the County of Cornwall deceased FORMS of AFFIDAVITS to be required and received from Persons, applying for Probates of Wills and Letters of Administration, of the value of the Personal Estate and Effects of the Deceased No. 1. For Executors William Harris of Calstock in the County of Cornwall yeoman one of the Executors named in the last Will and Testament of Thomas Harris late of the same place yeoman deceased who died on the 22nd.Day of April 1818 maketh Oath and saith that he hath made diligent searchand due enquiry after and in respect of the Personal Estate and Effects of the said Deceased, in order to ascertain the full amount and value thereof; and that to the best of his knowledge, information and belief, the whole of the Goods, Chattles, and Credits, of which the said Deceased died possessed within the Diocese of Exeter (exclusive of what the Deceased may heave been possessed of, or intitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially, but including the Leasehold Estates for years of the Deceased, whether absolute ordeterminable on Lives, and without deducting any thing on account of the Debts due and owing from the Deceased), are under the Value of £450 And this Deponent further saith that the said Deceased had no Personal Estate and Effects at the time of his decease within the province of York to which this Deponent need to Adminster.
Every such Affidavit to be exempt from Stamp Duty, and to be transmitted to the Commissioners of Stamps, together with the Copy of the Will, to which it shall relate, under a Penalty of £50. N.B. being now in a sound mind but as I believe in dyeing state give unto my
dear wife till my Children are of age the Interest of my Effects if she
remains a Widow, but if she marrieys for to be divided between my
Children as follows, that is I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Marria
Sixty Pounds and to come in beside equal share alike with the rest of
the Children that may Survive till they are all of age and if either
dies to come to the Survivors, All my Goods and Effects I Give unto my
Brother William Harris and Mr. John Proctor as Trusts for my Children to
see it divided between them as above and if my wife gets married to have
nothing to do with Interest or principal, the Bed that I lie on I Give
to my Daughter Marria besides what is mentioned above, and after my
decease my desire is to be carried home and Interred in the parish yard
at Calstock as near to my Son as possible and to have a head stone
included both on it with the Inscription of an Industrious Father, and
all my Effects to be put out on good Security
