The Last Will & Testament of Thomas Tonkin late of the parish of St.
Buryan Yeoman deceased proved in Common form before the Reverend Uriah
Tonkin Surrogate.
And Admon of the Goods &c of the said deceased & of all etc. granted to
William Harvey as Guardian during the Minority of Thomas Tonkin Son of
the deceased & Executor named in his said Will.

The Last Will and Testament of Thomas Tonkin of the Gilley In Saint
Buryan.
This is the Last Will and Testament of me Thomas Tonkin of the parish of
Saint Buryan in the County of Cornwall, Farmer.
First I give and bequeath unto my dear and loving Wife Mary Tonkin the
Yearly Annuity of Six pounds payable to her by my Executor by four
Quarterly payments. The first Quarterly payment of the said Annuity to
be made on the first usual quarter days of payment as shall next happen
after my Death, with the Usual power of Distress in case of nonpayment,
now my will and meaning is that she shall have the Annuity of Six pounds
During her Natural life, if she should not Marry again, but if she
should marry Then I Order my Executor to retain the said Annuity from
her During her Natural life; again if She should Remain a widow and not
live with my Executor. I also leave her one bed and bedding for the same
During her Natural life as widowhood; and from and Immediately after her
death or her marriage, I give and bequeath the same to my Executor,
hereinafter named, now if she should reside with my Executor it is my
will and Meaning that my Executor shall provide for her every sufficient
necessary but while she reside with him he shall not pay her the said
Annuity of Six pounds nor her to have no Claim but as is specify’d above
in this my last will and Testament.
Also I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Tonkin the sum of Five
Shillings and sixpence to be paid her at the End of one month after my
death by my Executor.
Also I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Tonkin the Sum of Five
pounds to be paid her by my Executor by five different payments. That is
say the first payment of Twenty shillings to be made her at the end of
one Year after my death. The Second payment of Twenty shillings to be
made her at the end of two years after my death. The Third payment of
Twenty Shillings to made her at the end of three years after my death.
The fourth payment of Twenty Shillings to be made her at the end of four
Years after my death. The fifth and last payment of Twenty Shillings to
be made her at the end of five years after my death and it is my will
and meaning that my said Daughter Mary Tonkin Shall Reside with my
Executor and be provided for by him so long as she shall Remain Single.
Lastly I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Tonkin all my Leashold
Estate Commonly called the Gilley situate In the parish of Saint Buryan
in the County of Cornwall and all the
Rest, Residue and Remainder of Goods and Chattles, Farming Stock, and
all other my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever (Subject to the
payment of my Just Debts and funeral Expenses and the aforesaid
annuities and Legacies, and Support of my said Daughter Mary while she
shall remain single and reside with my Executor). I also Constitute name
and appoint my Son Thomas Tonkin to be the whole and sole Executor of
this my last will and Testament hereby Revoking all former wills, I also
do hereby make nominate Consitute and appoint with his Consent William
Harvey of the parish of Saint Buryan in the County of Cornwall my
brotherinlaw Guardian in Trust of this my Last will and Testament During
the Minority of my son Thomas Tonkin my whole and Sole Executor of this
my last will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have set my hand and
affixed my Seal to this my last will and Testament this Ninteenth day of
February in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and
Thirtyone.
