The last Will and Testament of William Leathan late of the Parish of Saint Buryan Yeoman in the County of Cornwall Yeoman deceased proved in Common form before the Reverend Richard Tyacke Surrogate
And administration of the Goods of the said Deceased and of all &c granted to Edward Tonkin and William Tonkin Yeomen and William Jenkin Innkeeper the Guardians appointed by the said Will during the Minority of Thomas Leathan Son of the said Deceased

The Will of William Leathan of Treave Vean in the Parish of St Buryan.
Dated March 15 1836
 
In the Name of God Amen
I William Leathan of Treave Vean in the Parish of Buryan in the County of Cornwall Yeoman being, thanks be to God of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament Revoking all other will or wills by me heretofore made.
First I recommend and resign my Soul to its Creator in full and lively hopes through the merits and mediation of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to receive remission of all my sins and my body to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of Edward Jenkin of Trean in the aforesaid parish, John Jenkin his eldest son of the aforesaid place and Parish and William Jenkin, Innkeeper of St Buryan Church Town the which three persons I do appoint as Guardians to my only Child Thomas Leathan now at the age of four years and half old untill the aforesaid Thomas Leathan shall attain to the age of Twenty one years of age.
First my Will is that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by the aforesaid appointed Guardians of my Son Thomas Leathan aforesaid as hereinafter mentioned.

Second I give and bequeath to my Son Thomas Leathan, whom I likewise constitute, make and ordain my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament all and Singular Property whatsoever and wheresoever or of what nature or Kind soever and not hereinbefore by me given or devised.
I also request that my Wife Elizabeth may live with my son till he attains to the age of twenty one years and that the Interest of the Property be to her Sole management untill then provided she does not marry, if she should marry she is to received one shilling only.
Also I request in case my son Thomas Leathan dies before he arrives at the age of twenty one years my Wife Elizabeth, to receive the yearly Interest of all my Property and likewise all my Furniture with the acception of my best Bed, the Chest, the Clock, and the whole of my Clothing if any, the which I bequeath to my Nephew Martin Williams, of Numfra In the Parish of St Just.
I also bequeath, provided my Wife Elizabeth dies, the whole of my Property whatsoever and wheresoever to the aforesaid Martin William my Nephew

In witness whereof I the said William Leathan the Testator have hereto set my name and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six.
