The Order of JOHN PAYNTER Esquire and CHARLES VALENTINE LeSURE Clerk two of Her Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the said County made at a Petty Sessions held at Penzance in the said County the Seventh day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three Upon an application to us the said Justices, at the said Petty Sessions, by the Church wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the parish of St. Buryan in the said County, to have an Order made on JOHN REMFREE and RICHARD REMFREE of the said parish of St. Buryan in the said County, farmers for them to maintain their Mother HONOR REMFREE who is poor and unable to work so as to maintain and support herself, and chargeable to the said parish of St. Buryan. They the said JOHN REMFREE and RICHARD REMFREE being persons of sufficient ability to maintain and provide for their said Mother HONOR REMFREE And the said JOHN REMFREE AND RICHARD REMFREE having been duly summoned to appear before us the said Justices, at the said Petty Sessions, to the end that we might examine into the cause and circumstances of the premises, and now appearing before us in pursuance of the said summons, but they have not shown any sufficient cause why such Order should not be made, and we having heard the parties so complaining, and duly considered the circumstances of the said complaint, as well as the want of any adequate defence on the part of the said JOHN REMFREE and RICHARD REMFREE do adjudge and determine, that the said HONOR REMFREE is poor and unable to work so as to maintain and support herself, and actually chargeable to the said parish of St. Buryan and that the said JOHN REMFREE and RICHARD REMFREE are persons of sufficient ability to maintain and provide for their said Mother HONOR REMFREE And therefore we do order that the said JOHN REMFREE and RICHARD REMFREE shall and do forthwith, upon notice of this our Order, pay or cause to be paid to the Church wardens and Overseers of the poor of the said parish of St. Buryan for the time being, or to some or one of them, weekly and every week from this present time the sum of one shilling and sixpence for and towards the sustentation, relief, maintenance, and support of the said HONOR REMFREE for and during so long time as the said HONOR REMFREE shall be chargeable to the said parish of St. Buryan or until the said JOHN REMFREE and RICHARD REMFREE shall be legally directed to the contrary.
