Know all men by these presents That we WILLIAM PARKES of the Town of Falmouth in the County of Cornwall Blacksmith and WILLIAM GARD of the said Town Hatmaker are held and firmly bound unto JOHN RENFREE and FRANCIS GEACH Church wardens and WILLIAM HILL and JOHN HARRIS Overseers of the poor of the Parish of Budock in the said County (in trust for the Parishioners of the said Parish) in One hundred Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be well and truly paid to the said JOHN RENFREE, FRANCIS GEACH, WILLIAM HILL and JOHN HARRIS or their certain Attorney or their Executors Administrators or Assigns to which payment to be so well and truly made we bind ourselves jointly and severally our and each of our Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals Dated the sixth day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Twelve.

Whereas MARY PENROSE of the Parish of Budock aforesaid Singlewoman hath declared that on the Ninth day of April last at the Parish of Budock aforesaid she was delivered of a Male Bastard Child which is now living and likely to become chargeable to the said Parish of Budock and that the above bounden WILLIAM PARKES did get her with Child of the said Male Bastard Child Now the Condition of this Obligation is therefore such that if the above bounden WILLIAM PARKES and WILLIAM GARD or either of them their or either of their Heirs Executors or Administrators do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter well and sufficiently save defend and keep harmless and indemnified as well the above mentioned Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Budock and their Successors for the time being as also all and singular the other Parishioners and Inhabitants of the said Parish of Budock which now are or hereafter shall be for the time being of & from and against all and all manner of Costs Charges Taxes Rates Assessments damages and expences whatsoever for or by reason of the birth Education and Maintenance of the said Child or in any wise relating thereto and of from and against all Actions Suits troubles and other charges and demands whatsoever touching or concerning the same then this present Obligation shall be void and of no effect otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
