Know all men by these presents That we RICHARD WEBB and ANTHONY TREMELLEN of the Parish of Redruth in the County of Cornwall Tinners and FRANCIS ROGERS of the said Parish Yeoman are held and firmly bound to SAMUEL TRESADER and JOHN MARTAIN Churchwardens and WILLIAM GLAZON and FRANCIS GEACH Overseers of the poor of the parish of Budock in the County of Cornwall aforesaid their or either of their Administrators Successors or Assigns in the sum of Fifty pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to (be paid) to the said SAMUEL TRESADOR JOHN MARTAIN WILLIAM GLAZON and FRANCIS GEACH or any of them their certain Attorney Executors Administrators or Assigns for which payment to be well and truly made We bind Ourselves and each of us by himself for the whole and ingross our and every of our heirs executors and administrators firmly by these presents sealed with our seals dated the eighth day of May in the twenty eighth year of the reign of our Sovereign lord George the third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth and in the year of our lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty eight.

Whereas JANE JOHNS of the parish of Budock aforesaid single woman before one of his Majesty’s Justices of the peace for the said County of Cornwall hath sworn that she is great with Child and that the above named RICHARD WEBB is the father of such Child or children she now goeth with.

Now the Condition of this obligation is such that if the above boundens RICHARD WEBB, ANTHONY TREMELLEN and FRANCIS ROGERS or either or any of them their or any of their heirs Executors or Administrators do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully and clearly acquit Exonerate and discharge or otherwise well and sufficiently save and keep harmless and indemnify SAMUEL TRESADER JOHN MARTAIN Wm. GLAZEN and FRANCIS GEACH Churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the parish of Budock aforesaid and their successors for the time being and every of them and also all the inhabitants and parishioners of the said parish of Budock which now are or hereafter shall be for the time being and every of them of and from all and all manner of expenses damages suits and charges whatsoever which shall or may in any manner at any time hereafter arise happen come grow or be imposed on them or any of them for or by reason or means of the said JANE JOHNS being now great with child as aforesaid or for or by reason or means of the birth maintainance education and bringing up of such Child or Children that the said JANE JOHNS now goeth with and shall be delivered of, and of and from all actions suits troubles Charges damages and demands whatsoever touching and concerning the same then this Obligation to be void and of no Effect or Else to remain in full force and virtue.
