Know all Men by these Presents that we ANTHONY WARRIN and THOMAS WARRIN both of the Parish of Budock in the County of Cornwall Yeomen and JAMES MITCHELLS of the Parish of Constenton in the said County Yeoman are held and firmly bound to JOHN ADAMS and FRANCIS GEACH Churchwardens and THOMAS HARVEY and PETER RENFREE Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Budock in the said County. In trust for the Inhabitants of the said parish of Budock in the sum of Fifty Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said JOHN ADAMS, FRANCIS GEACH, THOMAS HARVEY and PETER RENFREE, or their certain attorney Heirs, Executors Administrators or assigns to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of us jointly and severally and our and each and every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these Presents. Sealed with our Seals and Dated the thirty first Day of December in the thirty first year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Ninety.

The Condition of this Obligation is such That Whereas ARMANELL HODGE of the said Parish of Budock Single woman Hath in and by her voluntary Examination taken in writing and upon Oath before (blank) One of his Majesty’s Justices assigned to keep the Peace in and for the said County Declared that she is with Child or Children and that such Child or Children are likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards and chargeable to the said Parish of Budock and that the above bounden ANTHONY WARREN is the Father of the said Child or Children If therefore the said ANTHONY WARRIN, THOMAS WARRIN and JAMES MITCHELL or either of them their or either of their Heirs Executors or Administrators do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter fully and clearly indemnify and save harmless as well the above named Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Budock, and their successors for the time being as also all and singular the other Inhabitants of the said Parish of Budock which now are or hereafter shall be for the time being of and from all manner of Costs Taxes Rates Assessments and Charges whatsoever for or by reason of the birth education or maintainance of the said Child or Children and of and from all Actions Suilts Troubles and other charges and Demands whatsoever touching or concerning the same that then this present Obligation to be void otherwise of force.
