Know all men by these presents that we THOMAS BRAY and THOMAS BRAY the younger both of the Parish of Penryn in the County of Cornwall Sawyers are held and firmly bound to FRANCIS GEACH and JOHN MARSDON Gentlemen, Churchwardens and WILLIAM JOHNS gentleman and WILLIAM PERRY Yeoman Overseers of the poor of the parish of Budock in the said County in trust for the parishioners of the said parish, in the sum of forty nine pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said FRANCIS GEACH JOHN MARSDON WILLIAM JOHNS and WILLIAM PERRY or their certain attorney their Executors administrators and assigns to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of us jointly and severally and our and each and every of our heirs executors and administrators firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated the thirteenth day of October in the fifty ninth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireeland King Defender of the faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen.

The Condition of this obligation is such that whereas ELIZABETH DAVEY of the said parish of Budock singlewoman hath by her voluntary examination taken in writing upon Oath before PETER BORES? HARRIS Esquire one of His Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the said County of Cornwall declared that she is with Child or Children and that the said Child or Children is or are likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards and to be chargeable to the said parish of Budock and that the above bounden THOMAS BRAY the younger is the father of the said Child or Children. If therefore the said THOMAS BRAY and THOMAS BRAY the younger or either of them their or either of their heirs executors or administrators do or shall from time to time and at all times hereafter, so long as the said Child or Children, shall be chargeable to the said parish of Budock, fully and clearly indemnify and save harmless as well the above named Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said parish of Budock and their successors for the time being, and also all and singular the other parishioners and Inhabitants of the parish of Budock which now are or hereafter shall be for the time being of and from all manner of Costs, taxes, rates, assessments, and charges whatsoever for or by reason of the birth education and maintenance of the said Child or Children, and of and from all actions suits troubles and other charges and demands whatsoever touching or concerning the same, then this present obligation to be void otherwise of force.
