Settlement Paper for Sarah Olliver, dated 17 February 1743
 

To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St Breock in the County of Cornwall
 
We the Churchwardens And Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St Columb Major in the County of Cornwall aforesaid whose names are hereunder written do own and acknowledge that Sarah Olliver now residing in your said parish of St Breock is an Inhabitant of and legally settled in our said parish of St Columb Major And we do hereby oblige our Selves and our Successors to receive the said Sarah Olliver whenever she shall become chargeable to your said parish of St Breock (she not having acquired a legal Settlement elsewhere) according to ye Statutes in that case made and provided In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and forty three

We whose Names are hereunto subscribed being two of his Maj’s Justices of the Peace for the County of Cornwall do allow of the within certificate And do Hereby certify that Jude May one of the Witnesses who attested the execution thereof hath made Oath before us that he did see the Churchwarden And Overseers of the Poor whose Names and Seals are thereunto subscribed and seals set severally sign and seal the same And that the Names of Joseph Hawkey and Jude May witnesses attesting the said Certificate are of their own proper hand writing Witness our Hands this 18th day of Feb 1743
