Settlement Paper for Johanna Ellery, dated 9 February 1746/7
 

Cornwall (to witt)

To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St Breock in the Said County

Whereas Johanna Ellery the widow of John Ellery of our Said Parish of St Tudy in the Said County Miller for her better Livelyhood and maintainance is desirous to remove from our Said Parish of St Tudy into your Said Parish of St Breock And to that End hath requested this our Certificate Therefore We the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Said Parish of St Tudy Doe hereby certify that Wee doe owne and acknowledge the Said Johanna Ellery and the child or children with which she is now big with, to be inhabitants Legally Settled in our Said Parish of St Tudy and doe hereby promise for ourselves and Successors to remove her and ? child or children into our said Parish whensoever she shall become chargeable or ? In Witness whereof we the Said Churchwardens and Overseers have hereunto sett our hands and Seals this Ninth Day of February in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty six 1746/7
