KNOW all Men by these Presents that we RICHARD JAMES an Inhabetter in the parish of St. Breock and JOHN JOYL of the parish of Warlaggan and HENRY STRIBLEY Black Smith of the parish of Collumb Miner in the County of Cornwall Yeoman, do hereby bind Our selves our Hairs Executors Administrators and every and Either of us and them in the full sum of fifty Pounds of Lawful Money of Great Britain to be Paid unto RICHARD LANDER and DANIELL HESTELL Church Wardens and JOHN HEWETT and JOHN KAY Overseers of the Poor of the sd Parish of St. Breock and County of Cornwall and their Successors or Certain Attorney Executors Administrars , or Assigns or them or Either of their Executrators or Administrs, in Witness whereof we have hereon set our Hands and Seals, the Twenty Second day of February in the Twenty eighth year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith, and in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty five

The Condition of this obligation is such, Whereas DOROTHY WOOLCOCK of the Sd. Parish of St. Breock was lately Deliver’d of a Child being then and still unmarried, to which Child the above Bounden RICHARD JAMES stands charged according to Law to be the Reputed Father, therefore the Sd. Richd. JAMES and JOHN JOYL and HENRY STREBLEY Black Smith, or Either of them their Hairs Executrars, &d or Assigns do and shall from Time to Time and at all Times hereafter quit and Discharge save harmeless the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Sd. Parish of St. Breock, any or Either of them or there Successors for the Time being as also the Inhabitants of the Sd. Parish of St. Breock all Charges hindrance or Troubles whatsoever for or by reason whatsoever shall Happen in ye main Time Nourishing and bringing up this Child, and of and from all Suites Charges and Troubles Touching or Concerning the same, then this to be void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.
