Know all men by these Presents that I WILLIAM OLVER of the Parish of Egloshayle in the County of Cornwall Yeoman am held and firmly bound unto THOMAS KEY and THOMAS CLEAVE Church Wardens and GEORGE MENHINNICK and WILLIAM CLEAVE Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Breock in the County aforesaid In Trust for the Parishioners of the said Parish in Fifty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said THOMAS KEY, THOMAS CLEAVE, GEORGE MENHINNICK and WILLIAM CLEAVE or their certain Attorney, their Executor, Administrator & or Assigns, to which payment well and truly to be made I bind myself, my Heirs, Executors and Administrators and every of them firmly by these presents. Sealed with my Seal Dated the nineteenth day of February in the fiftieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten.

Whereas MARGARET WILLIAMS Single woman hath in and by her voluntary examination taken in writing and upon oath before JOHN MOLESWORTH Clerk one of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the said County of Cornwall declared that she is with child and that the said child is likely to be born a Bastard and to be chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Breock and that NICHOLAS OLVER, the son of the within bounden WILLIAM OLVER of the said Parish of Egloshayle yeoman, is the father of the said Child Now the Condition of the within Obligation is such, that if the said WILLIAM OLVER his Executors or Administrators shall and do pay or cause to be paid to the within named Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Breock or their Successors for the time being or to some or one of them the sum of two pounds for and towards the lying in of the said MARGARET WILLIAMS and the maintenance of the said Bastard Child for one month from the time of her delivery, and also shall and do from and after the end or expiration of the said month pay or cause to be paid to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Breock for the time being or to some or one of them the sum of one shilling and six pence weekly and every week for and towards the keeping, sustentation and maintenance of the said Bastard Child for and during and until the said Bastard Child (if a male) shall attain his age of seven years, and if a female, for and during and until she shall attain her age of eight years. Then this present Obligation to be void, otherwise to be in full force and virtue.
